Good to know there are secrets in this one. #newsupermariobroswii

Wait, that doesn't sound... #newsupermariobroswii

World 2-5. A quarter of the game shouldn't be a walk in the park. a short walk. #newsupermariobroswii

They aren't super difficult, but they aren't super short. Check out mario world, some of the first ten to fifteen levels are kinda hefty and have a lot of stuff to them. #newsupermariobroswii

Actually, looks like you can just run jump or helicopter past most everything. #newsupermariobroswii

Those aren't going to add a whole lot of difficulty it seems in these early quarter levels, and as we all saw in the video now lives are not something you need to worry about. I really REALLY don't want this to be like NSMB DS. #newsupermariobroswii
11:17 PM
Then again, look at how the chaos pretty much killed off Yellow Toad from the very beginning. "Someone happened to push me into a Goomba!" #newsupermariobroswii
11:18 PM
The difficulty shouldn't come from multiplayer chaos though. That's fine and dandy for LOL DAVE IMMA THROW YOU INTO THE LAVA, but in single player that's not gonna happen.
And yeah, 1ups used to mean something. #newsupermariobroswii
11:24 PM
If it's anything like the DS game, I think more people are going to lose lives to obtain Star Coins and the secrets in levels. #newsupermariobroswii
11:26 PM
Which isn't the way it should be happening primarily. If the vast majority of the times you die is because you have to try some stunt, well, not doing it right. #newsupermariobroswii
11:29 PM
Then again, you never know what the game might pull. With how much I'm talking about what could be in the game, I wish I had the game. :( #newsupermariobroswii
11:31 PM
Yeah, it should be ahrder later on, but I am getting very worried when the first quarter of the game has super short easy levels towards the end of it. No diea if those continue either. I need to know this because I don't want to buy NSMB DS again. #newsupermariobroswii

Okay, all of you people that attack anyone that even says anything that seems to be even a little against anything in this game, this is your cue!
Why did it have to show exactly how to do it in an exact level pulled from the game? Why not have a standard level and have text boxes saying, 'The Multi-Ground Pound will turn enemies into points! If you have enough enemies on screen, you can get extra lives, like this!' Then it could show Mario and Luigi and a Toad freezing some enemies and ground-pounding them as an example. This video takes the thrill of discovery out of that level. Rather than the user looking at the situation (with the many multiple enemies) and thinking, 'hey, maybe we could get some lives out of this!' the user instead goes 'hey, this is the exact spot that one tutorial video showed!'
You know what, I'll post this comment just so people can be mad. Screw trying to have a conversation. Just get mad, people. #newsupermariobroswii

Plus it's completely voluntary, so I doubt spoiling it will kill anyone's holiday. #newsupermariobroswii

The thing is that Mario is a casual family game, can't see the "hardcore" type player running for these video or super guide. But for children or even older parents, this is good stuff.
Considering that gamers regardless of this feature would have just posted numerous youtube videos on this game, this is pretty much just convenience at best. #newsupermariobroswii
10:27 PM
@vid3oman64: RAGE!
Anyway, it's possibly because there's more levels that feature the same situation. Maybe the video only offers one example of an actual level featured in the game to give the revelation of what could have been done in the given scenario and how having multiple players can benefit you throughout the levels previously traversed.
You'll still have your "thrill" from discovering all the other possibilities in the game, heaven forbid they showed one actual level. They could have made a make-believe world for this hints, but is it that much of a problem to see hints from actual levels? #newsupermariobroswii

What, no Super Mario Shasta? Where's the Mario Punch, the Luigi Berry?!
They're all saying "look inside" because there was something printed on the bottom of the inside of the can. I forget what, maybe a contest or something (this was, like, fifteen years ago), but if you're that curious you can probably find some empty cans on eBay.

I was one of the people who bought Eye of Judgment, and the game struggled to even read the cards correctly on a set placemat. Expecting it to react realistically would have been absurd.
Of course, I don't expect any better from Natal, as it still suffers from that "real world" problem. #eyepet

I know, I know, they're entirely different projects in terms of scope and depth, but there's still room to be pleasantly surprised.
That said, emotiv's headset dealy has been described by various sources I generally trust as either good or bad, so the jury's still out on that one.
I don't think non-traditional gaming is a necessity yet, but pushing the boundaries past the virtual-reality shooter of 1995 county fairs is a welcome change. #eyepet

And I think you're right, Owen, in that it has something to do with storytelling-- we consider that an essential criterion for a game that could win GOTY. Sports games simply don't tell stories; they create structures in which the gamer can tell a story. That, of course, brings us back to NFL 2k5, which used the ESPN format to come closer than any other football title to telling a story. It gets my nod as Sports Game of the Decade.
