    Meh, Everybody knows there's gonna be Space Marines - especially the boring Smurfs (Ultramarines).

    What I wanna know is if the Eldar are playable, I'd love to play a member of a Seer Council of Ulthwé, or even better, a Farseer.

    Out of the way, pathetic mortals, let the true masters of the Universe show you what the power of the Warp can do!

    @XJDenton: It would be a tough call for me because I like pretty much all the races in WH40K.

    I probably would end up as the Orks since they are my favorite.

    I love Warhammer and I especially love the 40k universe and while those 3D models look fantastic, I have a hard time they can pull off a 40k universe.

    But I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for now and see where this goes.

    Ah, used to love Warhammer 40K back in the day. That armour looks even bulkier than I remember. Are they trying to 'outbulk' Gears of War?

    Me and my friend discussed how a 40K MMO should go a while ago. Ideally it should be squad based, no one wants to see a load of lone marines running around or like a billion force commanders. Rather than controlling a single character you should have a squad of your own. Chapters should take the place of guilds in conventional MMOs, with their own colour scheme of course. Something would have to be put into place to prevent the Lightning Pink Happy Bunny marines from existing though. From there it gets iffy, how to manage vehicles? Dreadnoughts? Different unit types? How to get those in there while keeping the game true to the source.

    Races are a big issue as well. 40k has about... 8, 9 differing factions? It'd be difficult to fit these all in and if you take the DoW approach of starting small and adding in then you're bound to disappoint some people. Not to mention balance and PVP. Pretty much everyone in 40k is opposed to everyone else. Outside of the clusterfuck that's the imperium everyone would have to be against everyone else. Would make PVP a nightmare to get perfect.

    The source gives this the potential to be awesome in so many ways. Unfortunately it's counterbalanced by the amount of ways this could go so horribly wrong. Like making everyone play as Ultramarines (ick).

    i just think they should make guilds mandatory. then the guild leader is the comander and the others are foot soildiers est.

    Depends on where you are. I'm eating my lunch right now. There's a problem with that anyway. It'd give the guild leader too much power unfairly. Everyone would want to form their own guild just so they could be the commander.

    Some vicious melee combat here, ability to hop onto moving vehicles there, etc.

    @rainofwalrus: No it isn't. The armor is just that HUGE.

    If you've never looked at Codex: Space Marines, I'd recommend it.

    Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo react to November NPD. Seems pleased.

    Anycase, I'd been kinda waiting for Sony to speak up. I'm used to overhearing casual conservations about Wii games and the occasional 360 title. But this last week marks the first bunch of casual remarks about the Triple. Hearing the waitresses at a diner talk about "Little Big World" was a curious surprise.

    @Psudonym: Heh. The last time I heard someone refer to LBP as "Little Big World" was when 1UP's Matt Leone referred to it as such during a GDC '07 interview with ex-Sony guy Phil Harrison.

    Man, I went to Best Buy this weekend and saw a HUGE stack of these still laying around there. The casing was pretty uninspiring as well, looking like some kind of cheap toy.

    Tough. That sucks for the devs who made this.
