    This project has disaster written all over it. When it comes out, sales could be so abysmal and they're already at work on the sequel, burning through money.



    In fact, I'm going to say that the attach rate / sales are going to be so low that they will can the sequel and kill the franchise completely.



    This was not the way to revive it.

    THPS1-4 was a fun ride, but after that, im like whatthefuck?! if he can improve on the genre, god bless... but for now im waiting on Jan21st. EA Skate is where its at.

    Personally, I really enjoy the over-the-top style of the Tony Hawk games. It's just been the ridiculous attitude that has kept me from loving the franchise like I used to. Newer titles were just plain ridiculous, which is far from the simple charming gameplay that kept me addicted through THUG.

    @Xenigma: Pro Skater was best when it was only concerned with doing crazy tricks and huge combo chains. Once the series went the MTV Jackass route, it lost focus and became a juvenile delinquent simulator instead of a skateboarding video game.

    They have already soiled their franchise. Their last decent game was American Wasteland because the reworked a lot of things except the crappy gameplay (on the skateboard) where you can grind up rails and onto power lines and then do like 50 backflips and 18000 degree spins all while kickflipping and doing crazy combos 500 miles in the sky to land on the board without a scratch.


    You know what i'm talking about...


    Skate's the future.

    Once the TH started to incorporate all that Jackass bullshit, I lost my appetite for series. Then along came EA's Skate .... and my world was forever changed. Goddamn I love that game.

    @Weaselfingers: Hey, in Activison's defense, they stole Guitar Hero from Harmonix.


    So, it was more like Activision screwing up a franchise they took from someone else, and then changing it to mimic a competitor that did the same thing better, because the competitor cared about the product, as opposed to caring about money.


    But, yeah. Other than taking it from somebody else, it's a near-identical parallel for Activision.
