Who's Sid Meier collaborating with these days? Is he still associated with 2k? I don't keep up with these things well enough, I suppose... #eidosmontreal
so eidos montreal is like, where those not talented enough to work for ubisoft montreal or EA montreal work.. but seriously, I tried to forget about them after hearing this producer guy talk about deus ex 3 #eidosmontreal
@mutedia: Oh how the perception of Ubisoft has changed.
I remember talking to a Ubi employee at an IGDA meeting in Montreal in..what was it, 2001? To paraphrase, "Well, first you go to Ubisoft to get the experience that can get you hired somewhere else so you can make real games." #eidosmontreal
Deus Ex 3 is rumored to have been canceled. They sold all of the promotional material in the store some months ago, and haven't said a word about it to the community.
Granted, the people over at TTLG ripped it to shreds pretty hard, repeatedly, and threw the Eidos rep out the door on his ass whenever he came by to talk to them. #eidosmontreal
(Starts chanting about a TWEWY sequel that deals with The Game in other cities)
But, when they say global, does that mean they will work on it from all over the world, or the game will be a globe hopping game A La Carmen Sandiego? #eidosmontreal
@madammina: A global TWEWY sequel would be beautiful!
It could probably also feature Joshua as the main enemy, as the original game hinted. You can't resist the white long hair for long in a JRPG - sooner or later, you will become a bad guy!
@mcderek3000:
I just mean, the Overarching Game in TWEWY has to have fall out with the other composers, conductors, producers, etc. I'd like to see the after effects in places like New York, Buenos Aires, Paris, London, Moscow etc.
Would take a very big cartidge though, or something... and we might not know the characters as well, which was a big part of why TWEWY worked. #eidosmontreal
Sad to see that Toronto isn't keeping-up with the growth of the video games industry in Canada. Montreal has a strong Ubisoft presence, Vancouver has a strong EA presence, and all Toronto has is the Rockstar studio that was in-charge of the bad port of GTA4 to the PC. Hopefully the new Ubisoft studio coming to Toronto will make some high-profile games. #eidosmontreal
@TheHeeyyy: Toronto as a whole has not been as good at attracting game developers until very recently. Once Ubisoft is up and running, trust me more people will start setting up shop. #eidosmontreal
@Nahir: And by "attracting game developers" we mean "Tax breaks and subsidies from the government", Which both Quebec and Vancouver have generously provided for their respective game studios :P
On a related note, i've always wondered what the heck Bioware is doing all the way out in Edmonton... #eidosmontreal
"Busy busy busy. Yup, that's us here at Eidos. So busy with so many important IPs. Deus Ex, Hitman, Thifourf, Kane and... well, nevermind that. So many important games, and so many developers! No right-minded new Japanese overlords would possibly want to trim down this team following the acquisition. Not with Thifourf on the line."
This is quite possibly one of the worst uses of a number used as a letter in a word. Driv3r is pretty easy to read and understand, but Thi4f? How does a 4 look like an E?
plunkett: god damn it i implore you to use your social position to the absolute utmost of your ability, and harp on the numeral issue as hard as you can until eidos change the name of the game to "thief 4"!
for the love of fuck!!
promise me here and now that you will carry out this holy mission!!
