The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Preview: Pigs Might Fly
Zelda. The Ocarina of Time. Best. Game. Ever.

Now, I am not saying I agree with the philosophy. Nintendo's own history sort of betrays this movement (Link's Awakening and the Oracle games). And, I am sure there are plenty of people who would rather see the company create a new IP instead of using the Zelda brand.
However, perhaps folks should realign their outlooks based on what the game is TRYING to do as opposed to what they WISH it COULD HAVE been ... ?

Now we're getting another DS title with what looks to be the exact same Link, although this is apparently 100 years later (I'm guessing to explain the receded water). The next Wii title also apparently features a different Link from Twilight Princess, but he looks like the same person, only a tad older.
They couldn't have like, made some minor hair changes? Or little detail changes to their tunics? Anything? :\

While I doubt Link will radically different from it, perhaps we should wait until the visual style is seen in game before writing it off? After all, lest one not forgot what occurred with what was seen at Spaceworld 2000 and the final style applied to Wind Waker ...

Funny that most people (at least in America) hated the sailing in both Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, but they get all excited about using trains. Yay! The same thing again! When it comes out there will probably be a lot of bitching about how the train missions are long and unnecessary. Not from me though- I dislike the train for other reasons. Wind Waker's sailing was great, horseback was best in Ocarina, and now we get to be confined to an on-rails shooter. Exploring used to be a point of the Zelda games...

Trains. Fuck yeah.

Stupid Temple of the Ocean King!! I hate you so goddamn much!!

It does look gorgeous (for a DS game...).

So presumably a new Link.
Man, this is going to piss the timeline theorists off.

Make no mistake - Phantom hourglass link is dead from old age or scurvy. Probably the latter.

I know. Everyone is trying to tie all the Zelda's together, but that's like finding a logical timeline in the Madden series. It's a new game. That's it.

Wait, if there's an ocean of sea everywhere in Phantom Hourglass, shouldn't the Zelda Universe be completely engulfed by water by the time Spirit Tracks rolls around?
I'd figure the Hyrulians would have solved global warming by the time Windwaker came by..
Hmm..

I guess I'll just have to wait further down the line to see if it's worth hopping on the tracks.

OoT is still the most badass game ever though.

My big complaint would be about the large dungeon that you're forced to go back to after each important segment in the story. That kind of ruined it for me at times. Most of the time though, the game was great to play.
