One thing I think everyone wants to see is Ocarina on the DS or other great N64 games remade on the NDS: Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong, Jet Force Gemini, etc. It's untapped potential to remake these game or add new material to them.

So when they throw Mad Scientist in there just remember, there have been plenty of awful jobs out there, worse than Mad Scientist, so the glass is half full... And then I drank it. Yeah Mad Scientist SUCKS!

@DarkFestim: Actually Scholars are badass in FFXI.
But I say if my Mad Scientist doesn't sound like Neil Patrick Harris, then I'm gonna be sad.

As great as the environments look in this trailer, I don't like the use of the spherical world thing from Animal Crossing. On just the world map, that would be great, but in the towns, it makes no sense, is each town contained on it's own tiny planet or something? It bothers me, as well as possibly being a pain to navigate.
Those issues aside, this could end up being a great game anyways, as long is it isn't kept TOO simple. There should be some completely insane, out-of-left-field plot twist that no-one sees coming, and completely changes everything. That would be awesome. And hopefully the writing will be good, even if the actual plot is simple.

comments...fixed?

I just hope that it stays that way and works as well as it seems when the game comes out.

This however, looks like it just may have the right kind of art direction to pull it off. A delicate balance indeed. DQIX has done a great job of accomplishing this, hopefully this title can do the same.
I'm willing to give it a chance.

While the Direct X 10 with hundreds of ATI and NVIDIA variety of cards have CRYSIS...
and Direct X 11? Crysis again?

Problem is that I am not very fond of 3D-graphics on the DS. You see that everything is low-resolution, and even though they had some nice effects (curved world, grass-animation) and a stylized graphic, I'm not sure I am sold. I'd like to see how it handles first.
Also, yay for non-expanding input-field.

I love the way the world is curved - not sure if I've seen that in any other RPG at all. Parts of it were reminiscent of Phantom Hourglass, etc., but I'm loving the unique style. Hopefully it's updated old-school gameplay (yes, there is such a thing), b/c I can't seem to get enough of the grind.

Definitely looking forward to this one. I'm sure we won't see it until late 2010 or something like that, but I'll be picking it up. I don't know how Square does it, but they make the new, best-looking 3D games for DS every time they release one it seems.

It's starting to become ridiculous.
It seems as if all this crap is going to come out, but it never freaking does.

SE follows what's best for it, not what bitching fans on the internet want. Blame Sony if anything for not having a larger install base.
