Man, this movie was so freaking good. At first, I thought the ending was retarded, and I wanted to know what happened, but the more I let it simmer the more I realized just how perfect it was. It didn't matter the outcome, because you see him make his choice. The Bruce Springsteen song at the end only made it better. Fantastic movie. Was blown away at how it got snubbed for Best Picture/Director nominations, but it wouldn't have mattered. Slumdog was the better than The Wrestler anyways.

I loved the movie and this bit right here made it even more special to me. One heck of a movie right there.

Wow, I've seen the movie a few times now so I knew they must've done something special, made a game, or at least modded something to fit for the movie and the characters, but this is cool.

Highly recommend the movie, wrestling fan or not. It is depressing though, probably moreso if you are a fan.

I really need to see the Wrestler...I want to, but my movie theater sucks and never gets any of those good, lesser known films. All we get is that popcorn movie schlock.

Great article! I haven't seen the movie but I love Aronofsky. It sounds like a perfect scene; a great way to express the character in a nutshell.

Also, I love the added layer of "vs. Middle East" sentiment in both games. In the '80s, you wrestled the Ayatollah. Now, you go out in the battlefield and mow 'em down with super-advanced weapons. Reality has even invaded our fantasies....

They should have used Muscle Bomber.

For thpse pf you who don't know, it's a wrestling game that took place about 10 years before Street Fighter 2.

@ReedF**kingRichards: Huge article on conceiving a new piece of work to be commissioned and utilized in a movie and the effort taken to do it and you're saying they should've tossed it all for something that wouldn't have been relevant for the movie.

I want to say some really mean things to you right now.

@ReedF**kingRichards: I prefer the US name of the game, Saturday Night Slam Masters.

But anyway, that game looks a little too modern compared to what they apparently were going for.

It is an awesome game, though. I loved it on the SNES.
