Tokyo Drift Writer Signs On For Wheel Of Time Games
Big Game Plans For Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time

I mean, if it doesn't have Ispan Shefar, Corele Hovian, Setalle Anan, Amathera, and Samitsu Tamagowa, it's not really worth playing, right?

I don't care how much of a fan he is! There are thousands of Wheel of Time fans who didn't write Tokyo Drift and are thus better suited to write a game adaptation.
At least involve Brandon Sanderson, the author Jordan's wife selected to complete the WoT novels. He has a remarkable understanding of game systems and how to write for them.

Also, for Wanted, Morgan was only the 3rd man hired to help make a screenplay out of the retarded story written by the other two so...
To his credit he is also the author of Cellular. I never saw that movie but it was at the very least pretty original I heard.
To his charge, his latest effort, Fast & Furious, was pretty lame.

But I am a big fan of The Wheel of Time. Really hope this movie does it a lil justice. Doubt it will be perfect. Personally I always thought that the story was to long, and complex to be adapted into movies. But I'll bite, and let myself get a little excited over this. In the least, I can be pulled back into Robert Jordon's world once again. And since this movie will likely come out along side the 11th book, it will help me prepare to bring myself back.

Or maybe a skirt-adjusting mini-game?

So intense it'll burn you out of the Pattern.

I sincerely hope that this is how script writer cv's are written. :D
Of course, that would mean that having worked with Keanu Reeves, the Wachowski's could become carpenters.

Good thing the next book is coming in fall 09' Brandon Sanderson is writing it and there's been talk that it might have to be split into two volumes. Either way...I'm sad that Robert Jordan passed and didn't see the end of his 18 year series but I need my Wheel of Time fix.

There was a Wheel of time game at one point, lets just pretend I didn't say that.

If you want fantasy, read good fantasy like the Gormenghast novels, Perdido Street Station, Robert E. Howard's Conan stories, or really nearly anything other than Jordan.

Sorry Spiral, I'll have to disagree with you on that score.

As a huge fan of the series I always wanted to see it in film, but it is so huge that it will have to be truncated to a degree that would make the Lord Of The Rings movies seem unabridged.
Oh, other minor issue? He died before he finished the last book. It is being completed by another author that was selected by Jordan to make the completion (he knew he was on the way out) but there is no set date and no guarantee of quality.
Yeah, my jury is WAY out on this stuff.
