Well, actually, I imagine that "the people who wrote the Old Testament" didn't or wouldn't think that the Old Testament was weird, regardless of what other people thought about it -- just as Pastafarians (though I don't think Pastafarians really believe Pastafarianism ["Pasta?"]) likely don't think Pasta is weird.
To put it shortly, "weird" is kind of subjective. Just because Person B thinks that Person A's ideas are warped, doesn't make Person A a hypocrite for disliking Person B's ideas for being "weird" if Person A really doesn't believe that his or her own ideas are weird -- regardless of what person B says about those ideas.

I'm familiar with the basic premise behind "Pastafarianism," its origins, and what it's spoofing and criticizing. May I ask what, exactly, you were intending to pinpoint via Wikipedia (Wikipedia?) ?

(but seriously, have you ever read any of song of solomon? paraphrased a bit since its based on what I remember "Your stature is like a tree and your breasts like fruit, how I long to climb the tree and seize the fruit" for the bible thats like straight up porn, lol)

I'm quite familiar with the Song of Solomon, and it distresses me to hear even some Christians referring to the material as pornographic or perverted. There IS a time and place for freedom of sexual expression, and King Solomon and his wife simply choose to hold nothing back from each other.
Good joke, though. That was pretty creative.
Back on topic, though: I'm fairly certain that the Biblical account isn't anywhere lengthy enough to sustain a game story, but I'm not familiar with the Oscar Wilde play, so I don't know how it did or didn't "expand" on the Biblical account ...

The Path certainly creeped the shit out of me, but not in the good way. Several times in the game I took to question the sanity of the developers, because the raping and killing, along with the symbology, was all there was of the game, since the scenery remained boring and lifeless, and the gameplay was horrible.

Are the just being edgy or is that in the actual original story?

The Path is a twist on the Little Red Riding Hood story. Only, you get many different girls to acompany to grandma's house, and you're told to always "stay in the path". Only, if you DO stay in the path and go to your grandmother's, you get a message telling you that you've lost, because you didn't "find the wolf", so, the objective of the game is to run around a texture-copypasted forest with trees and ground that looks endless and all the same, and girl characters that walk incredibly slow and don't let you know of the run button until your second play of the game.
When you do find the "wolf", which is a different representation of getting murdered or raped, either meeting with an old guy in the park who offers you a cigarrete, puts his arm around you and the screen fades to black, meeting a redneck hunter in the woods, getting drunk, going to his tent and the screen fades to black, meeting with a "water spirit" in the lake who hugs you and the screen fades to black... well, you get the picture. Anyway, you always wake up on the road to grandma's house, bleeding and limping. As you limp on, you go inside grandma's house, which has been reconfigured to look like a torture house of your worst nightmares, and you see yourself "dying", in a way.
...and... that's really it, in a way. There are a few collectibles and a last girl who just goes to grandma's house without meeting the wolf, but you basically play a game with a horrible gameplay and a "point" which is to rape and murder little girls.

I also commented thoughtfully on a few of the creator's (the male half of the duo) posts, and the replies I got from him painted a very clear picture that he was more than a bit of a self-righteous douche.
I can't say I minded that the game was about getting your girl raped and murdered, but I was very put off by the fact that the creator's game and what they said about games so starkly contrasted. I basically got the impression that the creator hated games, hated people who plays games, and made this game in an effort to mock games and annoy you, the person who played it.
He's really the worst kind of people.

...although I do say that people should at least TRY to play The Path. Or watch youtube playthroughs of it. It deserves to be seen in order to believe the creepy bullshit of it.

Mind you, I am a Christian now, often in spite of some of the things I read in the Bible. It may be a guidebook, but IMO some of the things in it may be less than accurate. But again, just my opinion.
