The Dog Island Promotes Puppy Piracy

Not one, but two giant-headed dog pirates appear in this video of me going through the beginning of Ubisoft and Yukes' The Dog Island for the Nintendo Wii, a game based off of pictures of animals shot through a fish-eye lens. As promised in the vid, I've dug out the original posting of the intro song, and I am happy to report that after playing the game for a good hour I am pretty sure I am not dead.

Clip: Creepy Dogs Get their Own Island

You can buy these "The Dog" (breed with giant mutant head) stickers and calendars pretty much wherever there's a Japanese bookstore that has a mechanical pencil rack the size of your living room, but I never thought this kind of niche market could land itself its own Nintendo Wii game. As usual, I was wrong and on top of that, there's even a clip to show how cute (but still very creepy) the game looks. More »
