The publisher plans to bring each of those series back to its line-up — but not until after 2009.

Atari revealed its intentions to revisit and resuscitate some of its better known properties at a press conference in the UK today, pointing to some of its most beloved hits as a focus for 2010 and beyond. The rebounding publisher diverted focus to its next-year line-up, according to Eurogamer, which includes Ghostbusters, The Witcher for consoles and the recently announced Ready 2 Rumble Revolution.

While Atari's been supporting Neverwinter Nights 2 in the form of expansion packs, the Baldur's Gate series has been quiet since the release of Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, with the spin-off series Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance petering out in 2004. Sequels to both would be very welcome, my new Atari overlords.

We suppose the only question is: who's going to develop the next Baldur's Gate? BioWare, now owned by EA, has already moved on to its own "spiritual successor" Dragon Age.

As far as another Test Drive, Developer Eden Games is rumored to have already started work on a sequel to Test Drive Unlimited as of earlier this year.

<![CDATA[Test Drive Unlimited Pack Five Live]]> Atari's support for the large community of folks who enjoy just randomly driving around in Test Drive Unlimited of the Xbox 360 is still going strong, if the latest vehicle pack is any indicator. The fifth such pack since the game was released back in September of last year, this time around drivers will get to download and purchase in-game the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Coupe, Dodge Charger Super Bee, Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole, Ferrari 512 TR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R, and the Spyker C8 Spyder, all for 350 Microsoft points. The Charger is worth the price of admission in my opinion. As is tradition, the release of the pack also heralds a new completely free car, the Holden Efijy Concept, seen above. Not a bad little stable of vehicles to add to the 90+ already in the game. Hit the gallery below for multiple shots of all the new rides!

<![CDATA[Gaming With Her Via Xbox Live Is Possible]]>

That's bikini model Yuuri Morishita. She recently came to play to Test Drive Unlimited online with dorky plebs. To get everyone in the mood for the Hawaiian course, she even wore a lei! While she said she's not much of a real driver herself, she also added that she hasn't been gaming much recently. Boy, that's how you promote a game: Say you don't really play them. The best bit? Since this is Japan, the chances of people actually getting in some game time with Ms. Morishita were pretty darn high. Gotta love the odds!

<![CDATA[New Test Drive Unlimited 360 Cars]]> Test Drive Unlimited continues to live up to its name as six new cars are added to the already impressive roster of vehicles available in the game. For 350 live points, less than the cost of four Guitar Hero songs, you can download Test Drive Collection Volume 4, which grants you access to:

  • Dino 246 GT, Ferrari Challenge Stradale
  • Cadillac Cien
  • RUF RK Spyder
  • Lamborghini Murci lago Roadster
  • TVR T440R

Players can also download the Saturn Curve for free. I'm still holding out for my 1996 Nissan Sentra with a bad oil leak and nasty front end damage, but I doubt the devs have the time to create the stalling at red lights functionality to make things truly realistic.

<![CDATA[New Outpost Bundle Half as Awesome as Promised]]>

Previously, our resident hermit, Eliza, mentioned she would be venturing outside (the first time in months) to purchase a pretty sweet Xbox 360 bundle that includes a Premium Console, Saint's Row, Dead Rising and Test Drive Unlimited all for US $359.96. Sweet enough to make even the biggest agoraphobe venture over to their local Fry's Outpost and pick it up. Eliza, included.

Well, Eliza just pinged me (she's an insomniac as well) to let me know the deal is lame. It's still pretty good, but ripe with the bad aftertaste of suckage. The Fry's Outpost website now lists the bundle as $449.99. That's not nearly as good as promised and very, very lame. So lame that Eliza is now on the fence—not just about buying it, but leaving the house.

<![CDATA[360 Premium With Three Great Games for Only $359.96]]>

This deal is so good I have a very hard time believing that it's not just a misprint, but our Gawker bruddas over at Consumerist have taken time away from complaining about shampoo bottles to point out that, right now, Outpost.com is selling the Xbox 360 Premium for $359.96.

Not that great a price, I know. But then they are throwing in Saint's Row, Dead Rising and Test Drive Unlimited.

End price for the console plus three games? Still only $359.96. Buy those all separately and you'd be spending about $200 more.

If this is legit, and Outpost honors it, it's the best deal on a 360 you're going to see this side of Christmas.

Edit: Okay, this appears not to be working... the page is, indeed, up, but you can't add it to your cart. If it starts working, we'll update!
