In that same sense, if a developer (or business or individual) has a brain to come up with a concept and the wherewithal to realize that concept into some creative art-form then please (, Please, PLEASE!!!) do your self the service and your idea the honor of thinking about the consequences of your action *BEFORE* you begin. Not doing so is insulting to the people who work for you, insulting to the people who you are making it for, and insulting to the very idea itself.

If you are going to capitalize on something else in order to gain sales, be it on popular or controversial media, make sure you do it both a) when the idea is fresh, and b), if only the name inspires controversy, release it as soon as possible.
Almost every time a social disaster happens (guantanamo, school shootings, other things i can't think of because i don't keep current with the news), you usually see some bad flash game based off the idea released on the internet within a week or two. If some relatively talent and inspiration-free flash game designers can understand the concept of releasing while the subject is still "hot," why can't actual dev companies?

Think about it...somebody with credentials who was deemed suitable to sit in on this conference took it upon himself to stand up and hurl his shoes at a world leader.
Though it's not on the same scale, imagine if Crecente got up and hurled shoes at his laptop at Kotick during an Activision presser.
Or if some angry gamer stood up during a debate and hurled something at Jack Thomson while he was speaking...

Has Obama lied to a nation? Has Obama gotten the US into a mess that it can't live down and is trying desperately to get out of? Has Obama taken away constitutional rights, redefined torture, given the US a crappy economy? Is Obama responsible for the deaths of a million Iraqi? Is Obama responsible for Bin Laden still being at large after EIGHT years of the best military, best espionage team on his tail?
It's funny because many of us were waiting for something as upfront and "in your face" to get the message across to Bush that no matter how much he tries to cherrytop the turd that is his reputation, it won't change anything.

The Iraqi reporter threw the shoes at Bush because of him being Bush, because of the Bush legacy, NOT because of being American, being the US president, etc. Your thought process is clearly flawed when that is what your response comes out to be.
