Please please please please make the draw distance more than 10 feet this time. I'd love to be able to get up on a roof and still be able to see who's directly below me. Thanks.
Kurenai is the last one I played in the serie and it was pretty decent. Nothing ground breaking, but a great character with Rin, some amusing nods to japanese saber movies (a blind masseur?) and a nice mix of paces and settings (I remember pretty vividly an impressive climb to a mountain monastery with a lot of vegetation and candles).
The AI of the enemies was not that hot, but in a way it helped in providing what most if not all other infiltration games fail to provide: the feeling of being the hunter, not the hunted. #tenchu
@lolomfgisuck: I've heard it whispered, in the dark forgotten alleys of twilight London, that such a mythical entity was once born unto us and shunned by the heathens of the earth and that we must pay for the sin of the species by enduring the rest of the series since (and possibly before).
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Rockstar was able to take GTA games from the PS2 and make them look almost identical on the PS2. Not to mention Chains of Olympus that looks like God of War on PS2.
@Komrade Kayce: I liked Enchanted arms quite a bit, sure it's not the best RPG but I'd welcome a sequel if it was made a little better and had a bit more openness to it.
I tried Ninja blade (demo) and I wasn't all that fond of it but it's not too bad. I'm a ninja gaiden and DMC fan though so I think it was just not as good as what I'm used to but anyone who doesn't expect a game to be the best in the genre could probably enjoy it.
I don't remember much else of what they make. Anyone want to remind me?
@Komrade Kayce: *cough* ahh crap you made me catch somthing.
Yeah I tried the new tenchu demo on Xbox live and I knew it wasn't worth purchasing at all.
I like from software though, if a company makes 3 series I like then I like that company usually. Otogi, armoured core, the old tenchu's (hoping they'll make a good new one eventually too) and Enchanted arms. Not to mention I hear a few good stuff about Demons souls too.
If this announcement has to be one thing I hope it's Otogi 3.
@Madeira: I never really heard or played Frame gride. The only games I've played from them is the Tenchu games, Otogi games, enchanted arms and a few of the old armoured core games. Hmmm just checked it on wikipedia though and Frame gride is a dreamcast game and I did just get one so I'm feeling tempted.
I'd like to play Demon's Souls so it's at least got me interested and I'm sure it'll be good in the end too so I'm hoping From software will keep up that level of quality.
I did enjoy the demo of Ninja blade a bit but I'm not sure I want it still. I'll probably get it when it's cheaper.
@Komrade Kayce: EA's pretty good now they've changed but I'm still hoping they'll make a huge game. I do appreciate how they're more diverse now though.
I agree I'm not a fan of the new armoured core games but I think they're okay still. Enchanted arms wasn't a rehash though and while tenchu and armoured core are rehashes I'm hoping they'll keep them up. Otogi 3 would be very welcome and Demon souls does sound good.
Haha, by EA I didn't mean Electronic Arts, I meant Enchanted Arms. It wasn't a rehash (unless you count of other JRPGs) and i thought it was pretty good.
Looks ok. I'm really cautious of the Tenchu series because every so often they just ruin it. At least it looks like you can see more than ten feet in front of you unlike the first PSP Tenchu...
i had this game on wii for almost 2 months, its really freakin fun, but i stopped on the missions with the girl because i hate her and i only wanted rikimaru
people should go look at some screenshots. in fact, you don't have to go very far.... just use the above image and look at Rikimaru's hair in the Wii version.
it's not even frigging close! let alone "comparable"
in addition "twitchy controls"?!?! the game only uses motion controls for the stealth kills and rolling. which are both, by the way, executed flawlessly after 15 minutes of gameplay.
I assume those who deem the Wii version twitchy stopped after 14 minutes.
I mean, don't get me wrong, praise the PSP version all you want.... just don't take completely unnecessary (and incorrect) jabs at the Wii in the process... lord knows there's enough of that on the internet.
@Crash_Man: Dunno. I haven't played either. What I do know is that if I had the option of getting (and playing) either one, I would probably opt PSP to avoid waggle at all costs. I hate waggle.
The Wii is a flawed console. Additionally, the PS3 is a flawed console, the Xbox 360 is a flawed console. The DS and PSP are flawed consoles. I don't see why we can't just all agree on that. I'm an equal opportunity cynic. (See avatar.)
I'll end up playing it anyways. Like I do all games, I'm funny that way. But I might have actually been looking forward to playing it if it was just 'Ninjas' instead of 'Tenchu: Ninjas'... the Tenchu name has ruined me.

Evening meal? Don't need it.
Social interaction? Well, I did just get invaded by a Black Phantom, does that count?
Your family, friends, heck, the world will never see you again... Demon Souls is that good...

All those Tenchu 'games'...
Not that I'm knocking the PS1 or the first PS2 Tenchus. They were pretty sweet.
But jesus. How do you screw up ninja assassins so horribly in every way you try.

I think I read on NeoGAF that Demon's Souls is the best game since Zelda.
Ninja Blade didn't review well, but there's quite a bit of positivity out there for it.

Assuming then that it was simply Shadow Assassins, but it played as it would with "Tenchu" in the name, would you buy or even play it?
NOTE: I'm no Tenchu fanboy (I didn't despise Tenchu Z, but nor did I love it...at all really), I'm just curious to see what you'd say.
