In South Korea, there are three new PSP bundles:

One bundle includes a region-specific TV tuner, 32MB memory stick, and a PSP. The other two? They're Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection bundles — as game site Siliconera points out, the year-old-game is quite popular in South Korea. You know another way to say "popular"? That's right, hot.

<![CDATA[Tekken 5 Online Getting DualShock 3 Support In Latest Update]]> Namco Bandai hasn't forgotten about you, Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online players. Famitsu is reporting, by way of SDTekken, that the PlayStation 3 game is due for a patch that will see a handful of nice-to-haves added. In addition to DualShock 3 vibration support, new online tweaks, including a 1-on-1 "pickup match" and some lobby interface tweaks should be included in the software patch. There's also talk of some point tweaking for your Dan ranking, but we'll hold off trying to decipher what those changes are until we get clearer info.

<![CDATA[Tekken 5 Online Is...Online]]> Reported by a kotakuite named Christopher and confirmed by a Kotaku editor named me (not my actual name), the add-on pack for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is now available for purchase on the PlayStation Network. For $9.99 (there they go using actual dollar amounts again) you get survival mode, the much-needed practice mode, and of course, online mode. Finally Tekken fans across the country can take on each other in head to head matches online. I am pondering downloading it as we speak, though I do have an awful lot of games to catch up on and might not be able to find time to play the online component at all, which is code for I suck at Tekken.

<![CDATA[Tekken 5 Online Confirmed, Priced For US]]> Namco Bandai confirmed today that the recently revealed online-play update for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection for the PlayStation Network will ring in at a slightly more expensive $9.99 for North American gamers.

In addition to the new online mode, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online will include a new Survival mode and Practice mode, two game types sorely missing from the original release. No solid date was given—PlayStation Store watchers know better anyway—but the upgrade is due before the end of the year.

As long as Panda farting is an option over the internet, consider me in.

<![CDATA[What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> After a big gaming blow out at my pad last night, which saw hours worth of Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, Guitar Hero II, Ibara, Typing of the Dead and Samba de Amigo grace the liquid crystal of my Sharp Aquos, I've got a bit of a gaming hangover. It might have been the beer. It might have been the late night Ikaruga bender that ended when the power went out, but today I've got a teeny headache. Is there such a thing as too much gaming? Maybe!

This weekend, I don't think I'll be doing much more than firing up my Tekken 5 download from the PlayStation Store. We're officially departing for GDC on Sunday night, so the only other thing I have on my list is to obsessively complete Castlevania Portrait of Ruin before I move on to Dragon Quest Rocket Slime for the DS.

What pre-GDC video gaming goodness do you have ready to fire up this weekend? We'd appreciate you letting us know in the comments.

<![CDATA[Tekken 5 Hits PS3 Thursday]]>

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, available in Japan since last December, is finally landing on North American Playstation 3s via the Playstation store.

The downloadable, 800 MB game will sell for about $20 and feature 1080p resolution, but no online play.

Thursday will also bring a free MotorStorm behind-the-scenes video that shows how the game, set to hit stores next week, was designed. The video will include footage from the team's shoot in Utah's Monument Vally and interview with the designers and producer.

Finally, Sony points out that the latest firmware update for your console not only allows you to resize the video chat on your console, but also adds support for all USB video class compliant cameras. That's kinda cool. Must test out the Xbox 360 Vision Camera on the PS3.

<![CDATA[How To: Buy Tekken 5 From Japanese PS3 Store]]>

Got a PS3? Wanna snag Tekken 5? Don't live in Hong Kong or Japan? Game site GamersReports has a workarround for North Americans who are itching to get the 850 MB Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. From GR:

Firstly, you need to add a new user to your PS3. Keep in mind it cannot be a new sub user, it has to be a new user from scratch. Go ahead and add all the credit card information, and when it asks for the country pick Hong Kong, and choose any city. Remember, all of the information will be the same except city and country. After you have created this new account that has a Hong Kong city and country, go all the way to the right on the main PS3 screen and choose account management. Then choose transaction management, then manage wallet, then add funds. When you add money remember it will be in HK dollars. If you go directly to the PS3 store and try to buy Tekken, it will not work because any amount over $50 dollars and Sony will check if the home address matches the home address the credit card has on file. In order to get around this, add $40 HK dollars to your wallet twice, then go into the PS3 Store and purchase Tekken 5. From there, it will ask you if you want to add more funds to your account, (example $45 HK dollars). This brings you to a total of $125 HK dollars which is roughly equivalent to $15 USD, enough to purchase Tekken 5.

Good to know!

<![CDATA[Japan PS3 Gets Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection]]> tekken5_drdl_top.jpg

Playstation 3 owners in Japan today were surprised to find that they can now download Tekken 5: Dark Ressurrection from the Playstation Store.

The 830 megabyte downloadable game costs about $17 and is essentially a rework of Tekken 5 with some new characters and new modes of play running at 1080p. The game's modes include arcade battle, ghost battle, versus battle and a gallery for viewing and downloading images and movies.

Has anyone played this yet? I can't wait till it hits the U.S., I'm a huge Tekken fan.

<![CDATA[First Shots Of Tekken 5 HD]]> Game Watch has a ton of brand spankin' new shots of the upcoming PlayStation Store game Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, which I'll be referring to Tekken 5 HD from now on. As previously covered, this is a fairly straight port of the arcade fighter (which was also ported to the PSP) but in 1920 x 1080 resolution.

No further details about price or release date (still), but apparently you'll only need to devote 800MB of hard disk space to the downloadable title.
