Then I heard about the price. R$ 800. This is ridiculous. Many people here don't make that much in a month, and for that price you could easily grab a 360 in the gray market.
Too bad. This could have a chance of succeeding if TecToy wasn't so greedy about it. I could see this selling like hot cakes if the price was something more like R$ 150.

The reason why it's mainly last gen games, it seems, is because it's a BREW platform.
For those who don't know... BREW is mainly a cellphone programming language.
It also runs on an ARM11 528Mhz. 3D resources are similar to cellphones, 128Mb DDR Ram, and 1Gb Flash memory to store the games.
It's a risky attempt. Even more because of it's price... in Brazil, you can easily buy a PS2 at the same price Zeebo is being announced.
And since piracy here in Brazil, SPECIALLY for PS2 games is a very very common thing, it'll be very tough for Tec Toy to sell this.
Things get even worse because Zeebo is targeted to class C (read low incoming) families... and piracy is far more common on that class.
But I wish luck to Tec Toy... they are one of the few companies still trying to produce and sell consoles in Brazil.
You'll probably remember some older Kotaku news about a portable Master System which was also made by Tec Toy and some other stuff like that.
