While Leon, Claire, and Steve are clear enough of the cover of the next entry in the Resident Evil rail-shooter series for the Wii, who is that shadowy character in the background? Capcom is being absolutely no help whatsoever.

Front and center feature both Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield in their classic Resident Evil 2 outfits, followed by a nice horde of zombies. Also featured in the background is Steve Burnside from CODE Veronica fame along with a shaded "mystery" figure, who you will have to wait to find out who it actually is. :)

Will we really have to wait, or will the combined power of the Kotaku commenting community triumph over vague box art? Photoshop guesses are extremely welcome!

<![CDATA[Lionhead Teases Big News At Microsoft's E3 Presser]]> Lionhead will definitely be playing a part in Microsoft's E3 2009 press conference this Monday, joining the growing horde of game development studios using Twitter for evil teasing purposes.

As if all the news slipping out in the days leading up to E3 2009, this year we have to deal with the growing number of Twitter teases, such as this one from the official Lionhead Twitter:

Lionhead is off to LA for this year's E3 and will give a big presentation at the Microsoft press conference on Monday! Watch this space!

What does that mean? Is a new game being announced, perhaps Peter Molyneux's next big thing? More downloadable content for Fable II? Could it possibly tie in to the other Lionhead on Twitter, who was recently been seen enjoying the unusually cool weather?

Probably not. Just another little bit of teasing that will contribute to the formation of ulcers leading up to next week's big reveal.

<![CDATA[Lionhead Promises Big Fable II News Next Week]]> Lionhead is teasing big news about their epic RPG Fable II next week, and quite frankly I find it in rather bad taste. Run the quote.

Normally, we don't like to tease too much. You know, all this hype being generated by teasing the announcement that there will be an announcement in X-number of days. Who cares? But in this day and age where a gazillion titles are asking for your attention, I felt it might be the right thing to do on the blog. We've got some G o o d [Good] news for all Fable II fans next week, dare I even say it's quite a big announcement? Yes of course I dare say it's a big announcement regarding Fable II, next week!

I like that they try to make up for the teasing by showing you a picture of a custom Fable II 360 you can never have. Classy!

<![CDATA[Blizzard Splashwatch: Final ]]> What the hell, Blizzard? All of that teasing, all of those runes, and here it is, the Diablo III splash page. No fancy transition from the ice to this, just wham, bam, thank you fans. Oh well. At least we can still have fun figuring out what the penguin and Lost numbers signify.

I think the penguin stands for hope!

<![CDATA[Ubi's Prince Of Persia Site Dripping With Goo]]> Well this is certainly a new look for Ubisoft's official Prince of Persia website. Clicking on the link below takes you to a flash animation of glowing blue glyphs (words?) that slowly get engulfed by a mass of oozing black goo. Could this have something to do with the recently trademarked Prince of Persia Prodigy, or is this something completely different? Will we finally see what happens when the Prince comes up again Spider-Man's archenemy, Venom? Probably not. Trying to believably mix established gaming icons with comic book heroes and villains is a silly idea. I suppose we'll just have to wait until either the big reveal, or they morph the slime into some sort of damned countdown clock.
