A delicously next-gen Battlefront III please, Lucasarts. Do it for Pandemic! Also, i'm getting a little miffed that everyone's decided to announce new stuff at the VGAs. I want my awesome spread out a bit, rather than concentrated onto December 12th so I don't spontaneously combust in delight and make a mess.
Epic idea about Teras Kasi 2, Mike. I loved that game... even though I could never remember how to get Luke to draw his lightsaber.
@Ursus-Veritas: LucasArts can't develop anything on their own anymore. They fired all their development staff midway through Force Unleashed. The last thing I'd want is for them to hire some shit shovelware developer to pick up Battlefront 3 where Free Radical left off.
Either Free Radical makes the new game, or nobody. Just let the franchise die.
@Archaotic: A man can dream, Archaotic! A man can dream... *sniffs*
I agree though, if it is BF 3, it should be handled with the greatest care, and that means Free Radical/Crytek UK (is that what they are now) should get the opporunity to do it.
@Yamagata: Ninjas? Mere assassins, known primarily for killing people in their sleep and then sneaking away. Pirates, on the other hand, fight like men!
Can we please sit down and talk for a minute about fp? Okay, first of all, can people stop randomly upgrading the goddamn classes. Stop upgrading the fucking warrior or the archer first. Here's how it should be (more or less): worker, mage/priest, warrior, archer. The workers are completely defenseless out there, and they are a critical part of the whole system and strategy. Plus, a good worker who knows how to utilize the bombs is just as effective as any other class. I'm sick and tired of morons staying in the base and upgrading the class they use the most.
@Crash__Man: Cutesy characters + Nintendo + Nonviolent, simple and charming game play = "Casual, Just for kids", etc.
Cutesy characters + Sony + A team based capture the flag game that obviously deals with fighting, blood loss and online multiplayer that cannot be rated by the ESRB = "Hardcore strategy experience".
Notice I still used quotations. I don't like using the terms casual and hardcore too much. Point is, no matter what kind of graphical style a game may use, the genre and the game play usually decides if it's "Casual" or "Hardcore".
Don't mind me. Maybe I took your comment the wrong way, and you meant something completely different! I'm just full from Dinner and saw this Fat Princess news.
@Saint Anima: thank goodness you don't like the terms. I applaud that.
I think you are reading me correctly and you make good points.
but your main differentiating factor seems to be violence. is that really the only thing """hardcore""" gamers need enjoy a game?
isn't that something we should try to change as this industry GROWS?
also, you're comparing apples and oranges to generalize Nintendo games as just simple and charming but use specifics like CTF for this game.
you should compare this more with games like some of the WiiWare FFCC strategy titles.
I don't see them adding cutesy pirates or ninjas, yet which do you think the """hardcore""" are more receptive to?
Yes, this is just the way to update Fat Princess.
Even though I am against announcing new DLC just after the game has been released.
Let's hope this is a free update.
@ShadowOdin isn't american: It has to be, or its gotta be like a buck for each class tops.
People aren't going to pay too much for DLC to a 15 dollar game.
But the way Fat Princess works, odds are there has to be a building for pirates and a building for ninjas, so if its not free then the people with it will probably not have too many others to play with. But seeing as how there is already a pirate ship board it will probably be free.
@fanboyps3: Yes that worries me the most. If it's not a full update, and only paying for it, it will divide the crowd playing into two camps: those with and those without.
Not good so soon after launch.
@abort_user: Why? $15 is a bargain, this game despite a few minor issues rocks, and I've clocked well over 80 hours into it, try and get 80 hours out of many $59.99 games, even online added. And I still try to play daily, maybe not as much at launch but it's great fun.

And hey, maybe they could bring some of those soon-to-be-unemployed Pandemic fellows over to work on it.
Also, the VGAs are terrible.

cutesy characters + Sony = "imaginative ""hardcore"" strategy experience"
Wii Fit tells people to lose weight? "geez Nintendo, what the hell is your problem?!"
people complain about steering around a fat woman with cake? "geez, people, what the hell is your problem?!"
.... just some observations.
