Android doesn't have a Worms clone yet. I'd be all over that like exploding wool on an exploding sheep.

I rather like it on the iPhone. I find the controls decent once you get used to them. I hope they update it with the ability to customise maps. But i'm pleased with the purchase. £2.99 is a bargain for worms in my opinion.

By 'crummy old regular phone', surely you don't mean my old rotary phone.

Or do you? I never thought of looking for games for the thing, to be honest.

    I got it.

The controls take some time to get used to, but they're pretty ok. And you have your Cement Donkey and Holy Hand Grenades, so, all good.

Anyway, I'm curious how many times Worms games have been sold. Also, how much money Team17 has made to date. Probably a lot.

Have they ever worked on any other IP than the Worms? I'm fairly sure they haven't. Not in recent years, anyway.

Shows that if a franchise does well it'll be milked like there's no tomorrow.

Back in the Amiga days they did lots of different ip's. Nowdays it's basically just Worms and that new Alien Breed game they just announced.

Hmmm...I don't think I ever played the original Alien Breed. I'm assuming it was a top down shooter, since that's what this one appears to be.
I do like Team17, though. Hmm. Wonder when it's releasing, I need to see a demo.

@Archaotic: I was just about to recommend to you that you could try the unofficial remake of the original, which is called "Alien Breed Obliteration", but if I remember correctly, you don't have a PC, do you?

@KesMonkey: At the moment, I don't. I have a MacBook Pro with Boot Camp installed, but the external hard drive I use to power my Windows games burned out on me at random, meaning I really can't run the OS at all. When I get a new job, my first purchase is going to be a new desktop computer though.

As someone who bought both Worms 2 and Worms armageddon when they were released, I must say I find the title of this game rather confusing.

Is the 2 meant to signify that this is a blend of the two games?

I would get this, but there's going to be a PSN version later and I really don't have the HDD space on my 360 to fit a game I'm just going to download again later on another console.

@liquid_kore: Yes, significantly cheaper with discounts anywhere from $4-12US. Considering we're talking about games which run $10-20, that's not bad and adds up pretty fast. The discounted XBLA games are cheap enough to the point where I'm actually contemplating picking up GunShift for $6 even though I know I'd never play it beyond the initial test.

As dumb as I think that stupid Left 4 Dead 2 boycott is, I can't help but wish Worms Armageddon would be released via DLC as it is on PS3 because I just get the feeling this will split the market and make it more difficult to get a game going on-line. I suppose one could say that DLC would still split an audience among haves and have nots, but at least you'd see people in the lobbies which would encourage the on-line community to keep going. Worms is still a top ten seller on XBLA at $5, and I don't think too many will look to upgrade to Armageddon for what I'd assume to be double the price.

Is there any real reason to buy this after the first game? I mean, I've played numerous Worms games, but I couldn't tell you which was which because they all pretty much blend together for me, except those weird 3D ones, and even then all the 3D ones blend together.

@Busting makes Mister Jack feel good: Armageddon had one of the largest selections of weapons and secrets and unlockables of the whole series. While the game-play at the core is the same as any other in the series, there was a lot more to DO in the game. At least in the original PC release, and especially on the single player.
