Oh, and If I didn't already own Orange Box on PC, I'd probably buy the complete pack... Oh, and if I had any money I wasn't saving toward moving out...
@.- -. --- -. -.-- -- --- ..- ... / .. ... /...: I don't think many people are going to agree with you. Remember, the first game came out a decade ago. Most fans wish they would come out more often, not less.
@Phydeaux: Surely you know to describe a game as arcade style generally means you're saying there's a sacrifice of realism for a more streamlined, fast-paced (and often immediately gratifying) experience?
What I think this is, as opposed to any kind of profit, is an attempt to strengthen the online community of these games so the people that play them now will have a constant influx of new players instead of a game perhaps fading away.
@-MasterDex-: No. You can't. Gifting is ONLY available with the Left 4 Dead 4 pack and Half Life 2 + Episode 1 in the Orange Box. I wish people would stop spreading misinformation about this.
They are talking about giving away your duplicate copies (if you buy a game, then it comes out in a package that you buy also). It only works on the games he mentioned
@breadtruck: I'm pretty sure you can gift any game you have two copies of. I could be wrong but jeez, you'd think RabidZombie would just correct me rather than being so anal about it.
Nice! I already have pretty much all of these games, but I just might have to grab Half-Life: Source!
I've wanted to see what it was like for a long time now, but 10$ seemed like wasted money since all it does is add source engine physics.
Also, I already have the original, and I paid a the awesome price of 98 cents for it.
But with 66% off, seems like a reasonable price to just give it a look. I likely won't be replaying the whole game anyway.
Just got back from District 9 - Neil Blomkamp should direct a Half-Life film.
Yes?
In related news - I wonder if I should finally grab TF2 for PC. Have the Orange Box on 360 and the gold edition of HL2 for PC, so I already own a great deal of these. But, by all accounts (I've heard), the PC TF2 is really where the goods are at.

@(Zombie) The Forgetful Brain: PC TF2 is where it's at. but TF2 is not part of the deal, just TF:classic.
Edit : Mini District 9 reivew Plz, might be going to see it this weekend, still a bit unsure
@(Zombie) The Forgetful Brain: If they did it District 9 style documentary, and did it on accounts of people who met Gordon showing some footage of him, and society around him I think it could come out great.
As long as he doesn't turn into Bad Pitt spewing out one liners, it could be good.
I JUST bought Half-Life: Source last weekend for $9.99. FML! Oh well, it's only $6.50.
I may have to pick up HL:2, Episode 1 and 2 on Steam though. I recently bought a 3D Rendering Rig which works amazingly well as a gaming rig (dual quad-core processors, 6GB RAM, NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800, 1920x1200 Display) and I like it more than the Orange Box on my 360, mainly because of the mouse and keyboard controls.
@nantukoprime: It would be interesting to see Valve move out of their FPS comfort zone. They're creative folk and there is a lot more to gaming than shooters. On the other hand, they have an almost flawless track record and it be a shame to see it tarnished.
@nantukoprime: It's a pity you can't enjoy FPS because the genre has some amazing games. If you don't mind me asking, what is it about the entire genre that you don't enjoy?

I would scold you for forgetting the classic video, but I see it's already been posted. You're safe, sir.
And now I can't make it go away. Whoops. Oh well, we can enjoy it a second time!

Well, they did say to accept the Half-life 2 episodes together as Half-life 3, I believe.

Only if you're into ultra-arcadey, non-realistic multiplayer mayhem. I like my online multiplayer to be a bit less chaotic.

But Valve should do what Valve does. For example, if I want an off-road vehicle I'm not gonna lament that Lamborghini doesn't offer one. :)
I would imagine their intense focus is part of what makes them great.
