That's definitely some poster-worthy artwork right there. January 26th seems so far away right now, doesn't it?

<![CDATA[Hands-On With Frank West And His Zombie Horde]]> Dead Rising's Frank West can beat down opponents with golf clubs and baseball bats in Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, but it's his ability to call on shambling zombies that makes him a formidable opponent.

Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, with its colorful cast of Capcom characters and throwbacks from Japanese animation company Tatsunoko productions, is almost more about over-the-top and fun fights than it is about skill and tactics. Almost.

While the game limits moves to three buttons, weak, medium and strong attacks, a skilled fighting player can still squeeze quite a bit out of the title.

Earlier this week I sat down with Capcom's Seth "S-Kill" Killian to chat about Super Street Fighter IV and play a bit of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars.

The event, held on the 48th floor of a downtown New York hotel, gave me a chance to check out a handful of new characters for the upcoming fighter including Joe the Condor, Tekkaman Blade and Zero. But I spent my time with the game playing an almost emaciated looking Frank West from Dead Rising.

West's main attacks include swinging a baseball attack into the mid-section of an opponent and slapping enemies with a golf club in a giant, low-to-high swing. When not engaged as the main character in the tag-team battles, he can also be called on to hop into quickly and stun an opponent with the flash on his camera.

But as we all know, Frank West's real skills involve zombies.

West can call out a zombie from either side of the screen or drop one from the sky into the middle of the battle. The twist is that once the zombie starts making its way across the screen, it will attack anything in its path, including you.

Fortunately, West has his bat and golf club, which he can use to smack the zombies across the screen at enemies. He can also call on a zombie to shoot from one side of the screen to the other in a shopping cart.

West is a fun character to play in the game and his unusual abilities add a nice change of pace to the title. The best part of playing Frank West, though, are some of his super attacks.

One involves him dressing up as Mega Man and blasting away at an opponent, but my favorite arms West with a Servbot helmet. It's hard to pull off, but if you land the attack, West slaps it on his opponents head and then pushes him through a massive crowd of zombies.

So fun.

<![CDATA[Play Super Street Fighter IV Before Us]]> Capcom is putting community first (and Crecente last, where he belongs) this week. Our editor-in-chief was able to only gawk at Super Street Fighter IV in New York today. But you could play it here later this week.

You'll need to be a Capcom Unity member to attend. And you'll need to RSVP. And maybe you'll need to win a real street fight, too. I'm not sure.

Details are on Capcom's official blog.

Play the games. Crecente and I might attend too, but we're not 100% sure.

<![CDATA[Frank West vs Tatsunoko vs Capcom]]> Confirming some sloppy code work from Capcom earlier in the month, it's been revealed at TGS today that Dead Rising's Frank West will appear as a playable character in Tatsunoko vs Capcom Ultimate All-Stars.

<![CDATA[Capcom Brings Dark Void to Gamescom, Shoots Gamers Into the Air]]> We are a week away from Electronic Arts and Sony Computer Entertainment's press conferences unofficially kicking off the massive Gamecom convention in Cologne and I'm downright giddy.

Capcom is too, it sounds like, shooting off an email about all of the games that they'll have on hand for European gamers to check out.

Lost Planet 2, Monster Hunter Tri, MotoGP, Dark Void, Spyborgs and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Ultimate All-Stars will all be on the show floor this year round.

Because this is Germany's biggest gaming party as well, Capcom isn't just about the games. They've also decided to bring along a Dark Void machine that will let gamers take to the sky on a 180 kmh vertical airstream. I wonder if I've told McWhertor yet that he'll be the one doing that?

<![CDATA[Mad Catz Mocks Up Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom Fight Sticks]]> Capcom reports that Mad Catz swung by their Comic-Con booth yesterday to show off this slick Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars fight stick.

It sounds like the non-working Wii mock-up still needs final approval. Capcom says that they have it at their booth to see what gamers think of it. What do you think?

<![CDATA[More Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Screens]]> Not going to make it to the Anime Expo in LA this weekend to see Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars? Here is a fresh set of screens to help you appreciate what you're missing.

Just seeing the names Tekkaman and Ken the Eagle at the top of the screens does my heart good. My Wii hasn't been getting very much exercise lately, so I am a little worried this game might kill it when it comes out and I play for hours on end. I suppose if you're a game console there are far worse ways to die.

<![CDATA[Check Out Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars This Weekend]]> Capcom will be showing off Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars to the public this weekend at the Anime Expo in LA.

The game isn't the final build, but it is the one that was shown off during E3. If you're going to be at the expo check out the game at Booth 437/439.

THQ will also be showing off Dragonica Online during the show. The free-to-play, massively multiplayer online game will not only be playable at the show, but people who swing by the booth will receive an activation key that will give them access to the game's closed beta test.

Anyone going to the convention or is everyone holding out for Comic Con next month?

<![CDATA[Tatsunoko VS Capcom Confirmed, Playable At E3]]> Capcom has confirmed that a North American version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for the Nintendo Wii is indeed one of their two secret games for E3 2009, debuting in playable form at the Capcom booth.

The magazine scan we posted Saturday is from the new issue of Nintendo Power, which features the exclusive reveal of the 2D fighter that we were relatively sure would never make it out of Japan. North American players will be able to pit Capcom characters like Ryu and Roll against Tatsunoko animation studio icons such as Tekkaman and Ken the Eagle, some sooner than others.

The game that many thought would never make it to North America is actually in the works and will be at E3 for all of you lucky Unity members to get your hands on.

Yes, it'll be there, and it'll be playable. Look for more details out of Capcom within the next two weeks leading up to the big show.
