Hearts features cameos from a wide variety of Namco Bandai's characters from previous Tales games, but KOS-MOS here comes straight from the ill-fated Xenosaga series, which towards the end featured some of the best cutscenes of any RPG anywhere, but little else. KOS-MOS jumps into play, showering your enemies with bullets before jumping back into the support character limbo off-screen. Poor KOS-MOS. Her time came too soon.

<![CDATA[Tales of... Tofu Curry?]]> Tales of Hearts is Namco Bandai's latest entry in the Tales series — though this time Namco Bandai is releasing two versions. One is a realistic CG version, and the other one is cutie anime version. If that wasn't enough (it's not, really), Namco Bandai's Tales team has joined forces with Circle K convience stores to offer Tales of Hearts mabo curry. This edible promotion isn't out of left field: Apparently mabo curry appears in game as a power-up item. Priced at ¥500 (US$5.17), the limited edition dish is available from December 9 to December 22 at Circle Ks across Japan. Chow down!

<![CDATA[Anime Cutscenes vs. CG Cutsences - FIGHT!!]]> In an effort to either appeal to more consumers or confuse the crap outta them, Namco Bandai is releasing two versions of DS game Tales of Hearts, the 11th entry in the Tales franchise. One version will use animation style cutscenes and the other one will use computer graphic style cutscenes. Hit the jump for another comparison.

<![CDATA[New Tales DS Footage]]>
Announced earlier this week, here's some footage of the latest Tales game for the DS, Tales of Hearts. Glad they went to the trouble of including some CG stuff for a DS game. Also glad they've gone to a lot of trouble for the rest of the graphics, because for a 3D game on the DS, this is looking nice.
