Woah, woah, woah! Ric Flair, in my C&C? What, has the world gone mad? I mean, I love The Nature Boy, but god dammit, I don't feel like watching the man "WOOOOOOOO" and seizure drop every 5 seconds in my game!!!!
And what in the hell does he even know about the franchise? How can he be excited about being a part of it? He's too old to probably use a computer, let alone play video games.
Neat-o. I can always use some more Red Alert. I just wish the game gave you more flexibility in game options. IE, turning off the Generals powers, turning off superweapons, changing tech levels, stuff like that.
@gunluva: The original Red Alert had the option to limit tech levels, so you could have games with no air force or superweapons, just tanks and below. It was also very easy to edit the units so you could make the V2 truck's missile reach all the way across the map yet be inaccurate so several missiles would have to be fired at once to take out a target (and everything around it too lol)
@collusioned: Ummm, a game studio makes a game? This is news why? See what I did there? ;)
Of all the places to draw the line. You might want to wait next time for it not to be game related. This news is very much game related. ;)
Personally, I like the whole industry insider info. If you're into games enough to be reading Kotaku, then there's a pretty good chance that you don't just know games, but you know the publishers, the studios, the designers. For many of us, this is a passion and a hobby, and we enjoy knowing all the intricate workings of it.
@Amsterdaam: Hey, thanks Amsterdaam, you rock and made my day. :)
And like a crappy LE game, my comments now come with Bonus Content follow ups! :
On the FoH forums, Curt goes by the Ngruk. There is a very popular thread in their main FoH forum dedicated for the past couple years to posting on his 38 Studios (The post title is Green Monster Games, as that is what it was origionally called two years ago.) It has 100s of pages, 1000s of posts in this thread.
[www.fohguild.org] - That is a list of his posts, almost exclusively in that thread.
If anyone is interested, there are a few gems that he's said in the thread, if people want to know more about the studio, or what Curt thinks. Keep in mind, FoH is a pretty blunt, hardcore raiding/powerguild centric community. So many of his interactions there are on that level.
Sometimes he asks questions too, which of course is neat to any mmo fan to get a chance to interact with the producers of a mmo.
Here is his lated post, just a week old, discussing the inability to release a bug free mmo:

Probably as much as Randy Couture did, that they wanted to give him a paycheck.

The real question is if the commander disobeys a direct order, does he get a cheap shot to the balls.

I know. That's why I wish they actually kept those elements in instead of making RA3 just a modification of Generals.

If I wasn't this into game development, I'd just be reading IGN.
