Last Taiko Drum Master post, I promise, then I'll shut my pie-hole.

Namco has announced that Taiko No Tatsujin for the Nintendo DS will come with two drum master-themed styluses called "bachipens" so you can beat your DS screen into a musically-rhythmed pulp. The inclusions of these drumsticks have driven the price of the game up approximately 1,000 more yen when compared to normal DS games, but who cares? Now we can forget Wii Boxing Dog and get started on production of DS Drumming Cat. Not that you can attach anything to a cat's paws and have it not completely freak out, but anything's possible with the right amount of sedatives.

Voice slowly rising to squeaky Pikachu decibal...
IREALLYWANTTHISGAMENOW, IAMWILLINGTOPAYSHIPPINGANDHANDLINGANDMYFIRSTBORN.

I'm sure not all of you share my excitement for Taiko Drum Master for the DS, but it's been a long time since there was a DS game made just for me. The kind of game that no one else in my household will pick and drain my DS battery with.

Now, Namco Bandai have announced that the game will support four players (fantastic for a foreign girl with childish friends). Plus one cartridge can support all the players on DS Download play, so I guess there'll be a DS drum circle every friday in Nieuwmarkt until I get bored of the game (WHICH WILL BE NEVER).

<![CDATA[ Gallery: Taiko Drum Master DS Screens ]]> taiko%20head2.jpg
It's more awesome than previously imagined! 60% of it is already finished and the Japanese will be able to get their hands on it this summer. Judging by the screens, the language barrier doesn't seem to be too much of an issue, so the rest of us can be one web-click and postage stamp from owning it ourselves the very next week/month depending on where you live.

Not only can you dress up your taiko drum, but you can also put (disgruntled) animals in them too. Secondary only to the fact that there is some kind of drumming-slash-Super Mario Bros gameplay going on with an underwater taiko drum.

My head is exploding and I'm going to talk like a Pikachu for the next two hours.
