The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Tiger Woods PGA Tour series of golf games has moved from EA's Redwood Shores team to Tiburon. The Orlando based powerhouse also develops EA's NCAA Football games as well as NASCAR titles. On the non-sports side, they were responsible for last year's Superman Returns. Yes, they make EA buckets of cash.

We're not sure if Tiburon is staffing up, but central Florida hopefuls would be wise to submit their resumes. With Mr. Woods Isleworth home within driving distance of Tiburon, he's sure to be hanging around the office more often.

<![CDATA[Kotaku Helpu: Why Is This PS3 Menu Popping Up?]]>

I'm gonna be honest. I use my PLAYSTATION 3 as a DVD player primarily. No, wait. I only use it to view DVDs. While watching Superman Returns (crap, eh?), the above menu popped up multiple times — At least seven or eight times. It was totally random, too. My questions: Why is this happening? Has this happened to Kotaku-land? How can I make it stop?

<![CDATA[Analyst: EA Brand "Tarnished" By Poor Reviews, Quality]]> In a stinging note to investors, Pacific Crest Securities analyst Evan Wilson took EA to task for declining review scores, an issue they say will hurt the company as competition increases, according to Gamespot.

Citing dropping review scores for EA's stable of yearly roster updates disguised as new games (Madden, NCAA, NBA Live), Wilson says that if scores continue to fall it could spell financial trouble for EA:

The widespread industry belief is that one or two bad iterations can ruin the long-term value of a license, and we agree.

Kicking them while they're down, he also writes of "EA's continuing woes", pointing to slightly-better-than-crap reviews for games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and movie tie-ins Batman Begins and Superman Returns, as well as the company's "excessive employee turnover" and, well, a host of other things.

Typical EA bashing or BAIL OUT NOW warning to investors? I appreciated the publisher's commitment to "prioritizing game quality" but want to know when it will pay off.

Film to game adaptation from the Madden house.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (Xbox 360)
Take out terrorists in Sin City!

Capcom Classics Vol. 2 (PS2, Xbox)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine (PC)
The Oblivion expansion pack adds a new faction and gives PC players horse armor!

Tony Hawk's Project 8 (PSP)
More Tony and his tricky buddies on the go.

I'll be picking up the Capcom Classics Collection for my cheap ass retro gaming fix. You guys have any cash leftover this week? If so, what are you getting?

<![CDATA[Superman Returns Demo Hits Live]]>

Supes is ready for your downloads, kids. The demo for Superman Returns—the Bryan Singer film turned video game from Tiburon, the dudes responsible for a game called "Madden"—hit Xbox Live today, and it weighs in at just shy of 1GB.

Here are some very vague details from Mr. Hryb:

Inspired by the Warner Bros. Pictures film and 60+ years of DC Comics, Superman Returns: The Videogame is the ultimate open-world adventure. Can you master your superpowers to protect Metropolis from an onslaught of classic villains?

Well, can you? As is the new norm, this is for Gold members only. The Silver class can look forward to a November 22nd release date. Have fun (waiting, Silver losers)!

<![CDATA[Superman Loves WoW]]>

And yet another Hollywood celebrity comes out of the closet as a smelly World of Warcraft nerd at heart: Brandon Routh has gone on record as being a huge fan of the game.

I just like that world. I love medieval time and swords and horses and that kind of thing. It's fun to live that out, and I can play with some friends who also enjoy the game. It's challenging and mentally engaging. It's just fun.

Eloquent. This quote may mark the first time since Liberace that a celebrity has publicly stated that he enjoys dressing up in tights both as a career choice and as a pastime.

Anyway, think twice about ganking that level 13 gnomish mage: it might be Superman ready to kick your skull out the back of your head.

<![CDATA[Superman Returns Trailer Hits 360]]>

Warner Bros. Pictures dumped a bunch of Superman Return content on Xbox Live Marketplace. The collection of movie-related freebies include two high-def trailers, four TV spots and five video journals recorded on the set of the film by director Bryan Singer.

I kind of like the free content, but its so tangetial that it makes me wonder if its worth cluttering up the marketplace for. I know Microsoft is committed to providing tons of non-gaming digital content on marketplace, but do you think it's a good idea?

<![CDATA[E306: Superman Returns Hands On]]> The EA Superman game is going to rock. Why? Just imagine what it would be like if Superman was a (bigger) dick. Examples:

  • Pick people up off the street, fly them onto buildings, then blow them off.
  • Throw cars into other cars, then use your heat vision to explode them all.
  • Blow away 50 cars.
  • Slam into Bob's Big Boy's Burger, steal it, then fly it into his bum.
  • Anything else your depraved mind can think of.

We couldn't take pictures of the game, but the Superman character model really does look like Brandon Routh, which avoids the problems EA had with King Kong. However, we don't know how many next-gen polygons were spent modelling Routh's Supermanhood.

<![CDATA[Superman Returns Trailer Hits Xbox Marketplace]]> Superman Returns Game Video Screen 1.jpg

No gameplay yet, but Major Nelson reports that Xbox Livers in the U.S. and Canada can now download the Superman Returns game trailing in either 480p or 720p resolution from the marketplace. Ooooooh, I hope the demo's coming soon.

<![CDATA[Superman Returns Trailer Hits]]> Electronic Arts sends word of their new hero title Superman Returns: The Videogame. The movie spin-off will be an open-world game that has you playing Superman and using such super powers as flight, X-Ray vision, heat vision, super hearing, super strength, super speed and super breath to stave off the bad guys. The whole shebang takes place in an 80-square-mile city that features 9,000 buildings.

The game is being developed by EA Tiburon and is expected to hit on June 28.

There's a cool new game trailer worth watching over on the official site.
