Wow I was talking about milking Pokemon just the other day with my friend, the Game-clerk.
We concluded that they could still remake Gold and Silver for the handheld, and when they've gotten around to Sapphire and Ruby they start over again, remaking them all in 3D for the Wii.
@globones: The only way to do that, and this is one thing i've been hoping for for years, is by making one that is completely free roam open world that is similar to that of the show. even in battles. Like the new Naruto game for the PS3, make it free roam in battles like that and the pokemon can use their specials in real time while dodging in real time. It would be like our current ones, but more interactive and would possibly add more need for tactics than our current ones. and when not in battles, when using moves like teleport or dig, i'd like to be able to control where i end up, like when digging, i want to go underground and move, or when teleporting, i want to be in an astral plane where i can move to the place in which i want to appear. and when flying, i want to be in the air moving the pokemon, and going faster or slower as i reach my destination. Things like that are what i'd probably pay $60 for in a pokemon game, ofcourse, that is to say if it could be done on the wii.
Does nintendo own exlcusivity to the pokemon franchises, or can Sony or MS get a deal with Gamefreak too, given the right price?
@LllusionX is teh Winrar: Nintendo owns Pokemon, utterly. Game Freak just develops the games for them, but Nintendo owns the franchise and has recently taken further steps to ensure they fully own every aspect of it.
I'd love a Pokemon game where you travel to EVERY current world in the series. I loved that in G/S. The only problem would be reaching level 100 less than half way through, but I'd still love it ]:

Why doesn't Gamefreak do that? Why do they put focus on a story that nobody likes, put so much detail into main characters that you're supposed to project yourself onto, and insist on making the villains of the more recent games "wacky environmental terrorists with absolutely no worthwhile motive"?
Because they are idiots that got lucky with a good premise, and get by on nostalgia. That's why.
Gamefreak does not want to do that ever so yeah u sorry. You guys have too many expectations. This is a partner of Nintendo we are talking bout here.If it can shit money for them they will make sure its not too grand.
@Sebnotic: See, I was coming here thinking it would be a bold move to claim that G/S/C was the best pokemon generation ever, but it seems I am far from alone in that sentiment.
A day-night cycle that actually MEANT something thanks to night and day events, people calling you back for rematches (seriously! How badass was THAT?), and the only Pokemon sequel where more than 50% of the new pokemon weren't completely lame. GSC 4 LIFE!
Dangeresque (Kojima-san doesn't have to make Metal Gear any more) was starred

You are now aware of the fact that the changes to the National Dex in Pokemon Platinum and this G/S remake were created to make up for the DSi's lack of a GBA port.
Wow, the 2 biggest exclusives on the PS3 that flopped get mashed together in something else that will undoubtedly flop also. Still, if you have only got a PS3 and these games, maybe this content is really worth it.
Mr. ogers in the future you might want to consider that not everyone here is from japan and that the EU and US would like to know their standing in matters like these.
@elmorepow: Is he really cool? He had some great moments, but when he started banging on about "it even rained on the day I was born", I kinda wanted him to stop whining, stop being quite so emo, and get on with the business of chopping up baddies...

I got a vulpix and named it Naruto.
Then I got a kabuto, and they were on the same team.
Made me nervous...
Then Naruto went 9 tails on me.

...if they don't decide to impart unnecessary changes to the original formula, that is.

Those aren't unnecessary changes and OHMYGOD CAN WE GET ACTUAL FANS TALKING ABOUT THIS PLEASE.
It's so pathetically easy to tell who actually is an outsider and who isn't.

Please don't presume to hold insight into my thoughts when you own nothing of the sort.

There still are great new ideas to be found, so don't get your hopes down.

I'm sorry. But if it is a remake of the best pokemon games(IMO), then by God, let me scream.

Manually.

So it was a bit convoluted, but you could get the GSC Pokemon off of the Cubes games into the GBA games, and from GBA get them to the DS games.

Don't bother buying it from the Japanese store if you don't have the japanese game.
Wait till they announce it for the rest of the regions.
