TV Ad Sakura Is Way Younger Than In-Game Sakura

That's female Japanese "talent" Hikari Takada. She's doing the ads for SFIV. "It's was my first TV commercial shoot, and it was tough, but also fun. I really hope everyone enjoys the ad."

If you think she looks like she's 12, that's because she actually is 12 — making her four years younger than the game's 16-year-old Sakura. Click through the gallery below, which includes a pic with producer Yoshinori Ono. Now there's someone who doesn't look 12.

Wish We Had The Japanese Street Fighter IV Box Art

"Oh, come on Capcom - you can do better than this, surely?"

So asked Stuart in September. Capcom's response?

    "Sure can!"

Pity, then, that they can do better for the Japanese box art, and not that destined for our Western shores. More »

No Arcade Street Fighter IV for U.S.

Capcom won't be releasing a Street Fighter IV arcade version in the United States, despite the franchise's strong history as an arcade attraction and extensive ties to tournament gaming. Chris Kramer, Capcom's senior director of communications and community, gave the word to Edge: "At this point, it does not look like Street Fighter IV arcade machines will officially hit the U.S. arcade market." Street Fighter IV Figures Are Ugly, Yet Poseable

Street Fighter IV's unique graphical style looks pretty good when you see it on a screen. Different, yes, and it's taken a little while to get used to, but when you see it moving, it looks pretty great. These Street Fighter IV figures from NECA, though...show that maybe the character's plastic representations shouldn't have been made so literal. Especially since Ken looks a little slow, and Ryu looks like a monkey taking a crap. Pics are at the link below (don't worry, there'll be plenty more than just the three so far spotted).

Street Fighter IV Release Date Gets Specific

Enough with the teasing screenshots and videos already! What we need is a solid release date for Capcom's Street Fighter IV, and Capcom is finally ready to oblige. Both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of their latest fighting masterpiece will be coming to North America on Tuesday, February 17th, with our friends over in the more European side of the globe receiving it three days later on Friday the 20th.

The announcement on Capcom's Unity Blog also mentions something about picking up Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix when it releases in order to brush up on your fighting skills, a questionable marketing ploy if I ever saw one. Your steak is coming up, in the meantime we've fashioned this hamburger to look like a steak. Enjoy!

Ryu, Your Face Has Changed, Man

At Capcom's Street Fighter event in Tokyo over the weekend, there was an SF history exhibit that tracked Ryu's character art over the years from the original Street Fighter to SFIV — and all the sequels Capcom spun off in between. By this Capcom chart, there have been 15 incarnations of Ryu over the past twenty years. Think Capcom's stopping now? Ha, fat chance.

Complete Street Fighter IV Character Roster Revealed?

An eagle-eyed Belgian gamer at the N.E.X.T. games expo took a pic of what is probably the character select screen from Street Fighter IV's console version.

Unless it isn't. Internets is internets, after all.

Assuming it is legit though, there are at least 26 playable characters - all the usual gang of Blanka, Chun Li, Zangief et al plus returning favourites like Gouken. There is some speculation that Rose from Street Fighter Alpha is lurking demurely on the bottom row.

Meet Seth In New Street Fighter IV Trailer

Meet Seth, he'll be one of the new bosses who will be more than happy to pound your face into the ground when you get your hands on Street Fighter IV. He seems to enjoy sucking his opponents into a spiraling vortex and shooting them out of his chest. I predict hours of frustration with this guy.
