Fans Made Super SF II Tubro HD Remix Soundtrack

Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix needed a turbo remix of a soundtrack. And that's what it got from non-for-profit website OverClocked Remix (www.ocremix.org), which provided fan mixes and arrangements. According to the site's creator David Lloyd, "Artists can submit their own ReMixes of classic and modern game soundtracks, from consoles, handhelds, arcade, or computer games, in any musical genre, from rock to jazz to orchestral to trance." Capcom was able to tap this pool of talent for the game's soundtrack. And that's pretty darn cool.

Classy, Classy Shadaloo Street Fighter Shirts

Yup. They're not just classy. They're classy classy. They're part of an upcoming Street Fighter II line by Triumvir, which will be out later in the year. These shirts, however, (also available in black, with matching caps) will be available this week at Comic Con. If you've always harboured a desire to be part of Bison's shady gang but lacked the physical chops, these are the safe, legal option for those feeling the need to nevertheless "represent".

Street Fighter IV's E3 Trailer

As lovely as those stylised clips were, we're fairly comfortable with Street Fighter IV's art style. What we really need is more footage of what the game looks like. And Capcom have obliged! This doesn't only show tons of in-game action, but we get our first look at the rest of the arcade game's roster as well.

Vote For Your Street Fighter IV Console Characters

It's been known for a while that the console edition of Street Fighter IV would feature a few extra bells and whistles the arcade version would not. Biggest and best being extra characters. But just who are those extra characters going to be? Well, why don't you decide. Yes, in a surprisingly generous act of fan service, Capcom are letting fans vote for which Street Fighter characters not yet already in the game should be making the jump over to SFIV. Hit the link below to add your Cammy pick (from a choice of 8) to everyone else's Cammy pick.

Penny Arcade (And Others) vs Street Fighter

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Capcom's Street Fighter franchise, longtime series collaborators Udon Entertainment are releasing the mother of all (Street Fighter-related) coffee table books: Street Fighter Tribute, a "special volume of original illustrations from artists all around the globe". Above, you can see Gabe from Penny Arcade's contribution. Below? A selection of some of the other illustrations to be included when the book starts shipping next month.

Capcom Wants To See You At E3

Ever since E3 trimmed down and went invite-only, the general public has had a hell of a time trying to wrangle their way inside. Capcom is looking to make it a bit easier for a select few to get their hands on the latest the company has to offer with their Go to E3 with Capcom contest. Simply head over to the Capcom blog and send a message to CapcomContest with the word E3 in the title for a chance to stop by their booth next Thursday from 12:00 to 1:30 PM.

As I mentioned, our booth is not big (though it's packed with goodness, including of course all our new games, and a mysterious Street Fighter IV rug!), so to get in, you MUST BE ON THE LIST!

A mysterious Street Fighter IV rug! Oh my god I am signing up right now...oh, wait. Nevermind.

Street Fighter IV Animation Drawings Look Nice

Capcom's posted the original art for the Street Fighter IV Ryu anime shown at this year's Captivate. The animation trailer is up on the Capcom site, so you can see that here. To check out the art, that's in the gallery right down there. Enjoy!

First Street Fighter IV Product Announced

Have a gander at the first Street Fighter IV figurine. That's of course Chun-Li and Chun-Li's thighs — not to mention Chun-Li's massive feet. (You know what they say about girls with big feet? We don't.) It is a rather nice Chun-Li statue. The ten inch figurine will set you back US$100 and is limited to 700 individually numbered pieces. If that's out of your price range, there is also a 4 inch statue as well that goes for $10. Press release after the jump.

A Few New Street Fighter IV Screens

Besides nitty-gritty about SFIV data saves and point system, Capcom also released a handful of new Street Fighter IV screens. There are Ken's win screen, the versus screen and a menu screen. Ooooooooooh, menu screen! And who does love looking at menu screens?

Let's Dress Up Chun-Li

As we previously posted, the Japanese arcade version of Street Fighter IV will feature Taito's NESYS Card System to save and track data — plus a cell phone site, too. During arcade play, players can win and save "Battle Points" on their NESYS Card. The Battle Points are weighted, so, for example, if you defeat a player with a high ranking, you'll get more Battle Points. Besides BP, players can also earn "zeny" when winning and then take that saved zeny to the SFIV cell phone "Zeny Shop" where players can purchase outfits and different colored costumes like Chun-Li's new threads (pictured). What's more, players are able to receive a stamp at the cell phone contents shop (one stamp a day), and those stamps can be traded for ringtones, ring voices and cell phone pics at the "Stamp Shop."

Street Fighter IV To Feature Data Cards, Personal Cell Phone Site, Guilds

Starting July 18th, Street Fighter IV will be playable in Japanese arcades. To save your arcade achievements, the game will use Taito's NESYS Card System. (Makes sense as the game runs on the Taito Type X2 arcade system board!) The NESYS Card will come in four patterns, all of which are pictured. This saved player data contains the player name that appears on-screen in versus mode. The player data can also be accessed individual cell phone SFIV player webpages, which feature stats and ranking as well as news about SFIV events. Via the cell phone site, it's possible to create and name SFIV guilds. Players can then collect "guild points" and compete with other SFIV guilds to improve their ranking to boot!

Street Fighter IV Dated (For Arcades...In Japan)

Japanese readers, circle it on your calendars in your reddest pen. Anyone outside Japan with a few grand to blow, you've got a date to book your flights to Narita International. Because Capcom has announced that Street Fighter IV will be rolling out to Japanese arcades on July 18. That's less than a month! If you're not Japanese, hey, chin up, kid. Don't let it get you down. Because for Americans, it'll also be available to play at Comic-Con on July 24-27 (Europeans, you're already taken care of)

Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game: The Making Of (In Pictures)

You may remember the Street Fighter movie (the bad one, not the good one), but only those with longer, sharper memories will remember that the film had a game tie-in. Yes. Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. It was worse than the movie. But that doesn't mean after all these years nothing good can come of it! Alan Noon - who posted a ton of info on the game last year - has also posted a ton of old photos he took during the title's development. They're...magnificent. I've posted a few below, but really, to get the full effect you'll need to head over to his site and check out the lot of them (they're from 2007, yeah, but stuff like this is like a fine wine).

SFIIHD Beta Starts Today

If you purchased Commando 3 on XBLA the other day, good news! What may well have been the real reason you bought it - the Street Fighter II HD beta - kicks off today! Remember, you're supposed to be helping Capcom test the game, not scamming some kind of free, early access, so your complaints that it features only one stage and two fighters (Ken & Ryu) will fall on deaf ears. If you're stuck on how to actually access the beta, it should appear as an option on the game's main menu.

These Japanese Street Fighter IV Posters Are Rad

That's Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono holding a new Street Fighter IV publicity poster. Quite swanky! (But it does remind me of the GTAIV "IV" — that's because there are only so many ways to do "IV", I guess.) There's another post after the jump. Same basic layout, but different characters in the "IV" and sporting a different color. Kinda like it better, but you go on and judge for yourself.

Your Picture Here — in Street Fighter IV

If you have a hi-res shot of yourself and can think up a reason that amuses Capcom, you can get yourself in Street Fighter IV as a background spectator. You have to do it fast though. Capcom extended this offer on Friday and it runs through Wednesday.

Make your case — there are no limitations on length, subject or even medium — to contestATcapcomDOTcom. As s-kill writes over on Capcom-Unity, weirdoes, freaks, self-promoters, the obsessive, cosplayers and pretty much everyone is welcome to justify their existence in SFIV. You need to include name, age, phone number, email, and be comfortable with the fact that Capcom will own your likeness if they put you in the game.

If I had the time, I'd get a portrait shot of me done as a pervert upskirt photographer stalking—

We interrupt this feeble attempt at humor to admit I am an imbecile. The previously mentioned female fighter character is not a part of this series.

— I'm sure you Kotakuites, given enough time and creativity, can come up with something even better. Come on, dammit, we've gotta get one winner in this thing.

Britain Gets Itself An Early Street Fighter IV Hands-On

Unless you're a die-hard fighting game nut (and British), you probably weren't planning on popping round to the Battle of Destiny fighting game tournament next month. Shame. Because by not attending you're not only missing out on a chance to play Street Fighter II HD early, but you're missing out on a chance to play the arcade version of Street Fighter IV early as well. Oh, so you've changed your mind? Fancy that. It's on July 26 & 27, at the London Metropolitan Uni.

XBLA This Week: Commando 3, Frogger 2 - Commando Wins!

It's sequel week in the musty old Xbox Live Arcade, with two classic arcade games making their relatively triumphant returns. First off we have Capcom's Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3, which features all of the scrolling, shooting, POW rescuing action of the original, along with online multiplay and a free beta version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, all for 800 Microsoft points.

Also coming this Wednesday is Frogger 2, which includes 15 levels of action, boss battles, two new online multiplayer modes, and no free beta version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, all for 800 Microsoft points.

I am sensing a clear winner here.
