I have used BD-live with a couple Warner movies... I'm not a fan, if this "works" like that does. It doesn't work very well, from my experience, though it may just be Warner's servers. Are they using BD-Live, or another method, because that's going to be a huge disappointment to a lot of PS3 owners.

@Pessimippopotamus: Yes but it never works with anything digital. So that means all movie downloads via PSN, Netflix, Blockbuster and etc are no good. #netflix
@DNinja: @The Count of Monte Fisto: @meatee: You've gotta admit, there's something very poetic about it coming full circle. NetFlix on a disc? How deliciously ironic!
@NeVeRMoRe666: Well, in my experience with Netflix, I watch more Blu-Ray movies than I do streaming. I use the X360 streaming, but mainly for tv shows and stuff that's not on Blu-Ray. So, for me, popping in a disc is still very much a part of movie watching. #netflix
I am seriously excited since I just got my notification. At first I rarely watched instant view but with all the new additions I watch pretty often. #netflix
It's a bit disappointing, as an Xbox 360 owner, to see the Microsoft-Netflix partnership end so quickly. On the bright side, now that the PS3 can also stream Netflix, the digital distribution edge that Microsoft has been touting suddenly doesn't seem so sharp anymore. How I wish they upgrade the 360's hardware. #netflix
Does anyone know if this BluRay will play (and subsequntly allow Netflix service) on non-US PS3's? I have my US PSN account but my PS3 is Japanese. #netflix
@Jesse Jennings: I'm going to say "not likely" if you're outside of the USA. If you have a Japanese PS3, but you are accessing the service while in the US, that may be different. I think it has more to do with where you're streaming from, as opposed to where your harware comes from. I could be completely wrong, though. #netflix
I have watched more movies since Netflix became available on the 360 than I have in the last 5 years. Just this weekend I watched Spies Like Us, Krull and Phantasm. Coupled with PlayOn, my 360's have replaced my cable TV in the house.
I don't have cable or watch broadcast TV anymore. Streaming Netflix (with DVDs as needed) and Hulu are enough for me. I honestly wish Netflix had a non-DVD price plan.
@GarretFazniah: Indeed. It's also not too hard to stream other media you may have on your PC to PS3. There are several media server programs available for free. I can play every mp3 on my computer's hard drive on my PS3--and the PS3 is hooked up to a home theater system.
@GarretFazniah: Just properly configure PS3 Media Player or spend the well-spent 30$ on OnPlay and you'll get some pretty good streaming there. Only downfall is you really can't browse files on the page, rather you have to queue the files up first.
@Alessar: If you don't mind that little DLNA error window that pops upevery 45 seconds in the top right hand of your screen...... the PS3 is perfect for streaming content from your PC. And why can't the PS3 stream pics AND music at the same time?
The only thing I don't like about some of this direct delivery stuff is that its not "mindless." When I turn the TV on I can just surf to a random channel until something grabs me. With netflix on xbox and such I have to actually decide what I'm in the mood for. A slight and maybe silly nit pick, but that's the only reason I still have cable.
@Southrncomfortjm: That's why I like apps like the Hulu TV Beta & VeohTV, since I can start off with a random thing I like and allow the automated randomizer to take care of the rest by cycling through whatever I want.
Plus, I'm one of those guys who just does not like his 30-minute shows chopped up with 9 minutes of commercials. To each their own, but I like being productive with my vegging out, hehe.
I just subscribed to Netflix about 3 days ago so I could stream movies onto my 360. It's a great service but the watch instantly selection is lacking. Corpse Bride has been my favorite so far.
@i.roboto: US only unfortunately, they've got next to nothing for movie rental services up North (which sucks because I love Netflix and would so get it for my kids...and myself of course).

I have BlockbusterOnline, so I'm ignorant of how NetFlix works. #netflix

The PS3 is always going to be playing catch-up when it comes to the online services. #netflix

Of course, streaming via BD-live is probably going to be a joke if it's anything like Warner's BD-Live applications. #netflix

Yeah, it's got an abysmal selection of newer releases, but if you like classic films it's a goldmine.
