"Yes, another reason to turn your Wii on every day, along with all of those other perfectly valid reasons, which I am sure will strike me any moment now."
You know, I really wish this bullshit would stop. Trolling in the comments section is bad enough without the actual writers doing it too. #bbciplayerwiichannel
We need a service like this in USA... I already have Netflix on my PS3, so I want a different serivce with different content on the Wii. #bbciplayerwiichannel
Yes, another reason to turn your Wii on every day, along with all of those other perfectly valid reasons, which I am sure will strike me any moment now.
Because...y'know, it's not like it plays video games or anything.
I wish Kotaku's writers didn't troll the Wii so much. If you guys don't like it, that's fine, but making fun of it on a daily basis has gotten kind of old. #bbciplayerwiichannel
@spiderweb1986: Ah its not that bad, nothing to what you see in the average Wii article thread on Kotaku. But I agree it got old a while ago #bbciplayerwiichannel
And this probably explains why it broke accessing it through the Wii browser.
Now If only they gave PS3 it's own app rather than a hard coded bookmark.
Cos the desktop Iplayer on PS3 would be amazingly useful. #bbciplayerwiichannel
@Jetsetharrison: Hasn't 4OD moved to a browser based thing now?
So surely you should be able to get to it on PS3. Same with SkyPlayer.
Though not really tried either.
let's try it now
Edit:
Skyplayer needs Silverlight.
4OD just doesn't work. no idea why. it just doesn't.
what's the price of these games? Most you can find used for around $10 - $20. (but I guess that doesn't stop them from overcharging for the Xbox Originals games, most of those are around $5, yet they charge $15).
@KingDavid73: Games on Demand lists between $19.99 and $29.99. The one good thing I can say about it is that these are the actual listed prices -- no Microsoft funny money for those complain about it. The obvious bad thing and that those prices are high compared to retail. The Viva Pinata for $19.99 can be had for half that price, and I know I've seen Assassin's Creed for a lot less than $29.99.
@ArtemusWolfwood: There's DRM on the uhh...files you download. This has everything to do with downloading files. And the files you download have ...DRM, which is badly implemented. So my comment was, why would I want to download bigger files than usual, that are more expensive, if I still have to deal with their botched DRM, which is protection put on the files, you download, which cost money.
I'm not sure how I can explain this any further. I mean, these are files you download, and they come with DRM.
@dowingba: How is it 'ridiculously botched'? Works for me, never had one single problem.
The problem with DRM isn't DRM itself, but the implications it has on otherwise open systems, eg. Windows. But 360 is a closed system, and you can't really claim you should be able to play your 360 games anywhere but on a 360 console, can you?
@kryo: I have, personally, been barred from playing my own games on my own console, on numerous occasions, actually. Like when my internet goes down. In fact, and this is a funny story, once I couldn't access Forza 2, an on-disc game, because my internet was down.
They will be 1600 points ($20) You can easily buy any of these games for probably half that price, maybe more. So unless you are just too lazy to get up and put the disc in or you don't have a video game store in your town, this is no a very good deal.
@plankton88: I often wondered if they avoided adding more BC updates for the 360 because they wanted to overcharge for the originals. So yeah, this is just plain overcharging. I got both Viva Pinatas on disc including the one in the tin for less than $20.
