You ain't nothing. Not until you fork over $549.99 to have a full-scale Locust drone bust in your living room. TriForce Sales, LLC have announced the finalized version of their Gears-inspired Locust drone bust, sculpted by Epic Games Art Director Chris Perma. Weighing in at fifteen pounds and measuring more than a foot and a half tall, it's an extremely intimidating piece of art that I wouldn't want to run into on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. It's the type of statue you put in a room you plan on never having sex in. The Locust bust is now available for pre-order, shipping in early 2009. God help us all.

TriForce Releases Final Version Of 1:1 Scale 'Gears of War' Locust Drone Design Maquette

Sculpt By Epic Games Art Director Chris Perna; Paint Work By Jordu Schell

(November 7, 2008 New York, NY) - TriForce Sales, LLC announced today that it has finalized work on its 1:1 scale Gears of War Locust Drone design maquette. The piece was sculpted by Chris Perna, art director, Epic Games, and painted by highly respected special effects and creature creator Jordu Schell. The bust stands 19 inches high, weighs approximately 15 pounds, and will be available to ship by the first quarter of 2009. View us on the web at www.projecttriforce.com.

“We wanted to give fans a chance to own a true piece of video game history,” said Drew Seldin, a spokesman for TriForce. “By using a design maquette created by Chris Perna, we knew we were giving fans the truest version of the Locust Drone possible. To complement Chris’ design, we brought in Jordu Schell, a special effects master who has worked on some of Hollywood’s most memorable creatures.”

”It’s been a pleasure to collaborate with Jordu Schell and TriForce on the full-scale Locust Drone sculptures,” said Chris Perna, art director of Epic Games. “We hope Gears fans and science fiction enthusiasts alike will be pleased with these pieces, as we put great effort into every last detail.”

"The opportunity to work with Chris Perna, and TriForce was a unique and exciting one, said painter Jordu Schell. “I pulled out all the stops with the coloring; after all, it's not every day that you get a chance to be a part of one of the biggest games ever created."

<![CDATA[ Metroid Prime Phazon Suit Statue ]]> First 4 Figures have done very good things with the Metroid license, from the classic Varia Suit to the sexy Zero Suit Samus, but their latest creation leaves their previous efforts in the dark. Phazon Suit Samus. Being infected with a glowing mutagen has never looked so good!

The statue is crafted entirely in transparent resin, with over 25 LED lights incorporated to give it the unhealthy Phazon glow, and the who thing is mounted on a mirror base that ties the whole effect together. Standing at 11 inches tall, Phazon Suit Samus is very pretty, but also pretty rare at only 1,500 pieces worldwide, and pretty expensive at $224.99. If you've got the funds and are so inclined, hit up the order page immediately to make sure you get yours when they are released in early 2009. Hit the jump for two more pictures of this spectacular piece.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Metroid Prime Phazon Suit Next in First 4 Figures Metroid Line!

With the unique color scheme of black helmet and red visor, the Phazon Suit is awarded after defeating the Omega Pirate. Both Samus’ suit and gun are infected with pure Phazon. This gives the Phazon Suit an ability to protect Samus from the deadly effects of the deadly blue substance and shoot the Phazon Beam when standing in pools of Phazon. Just when Metroid Prime is defeated, the Phazon Suit is stolen and used to create one of Samus’ greatest enemies, Dark Samus!

First 4 Figures is extremely proud to present the ultimate version of the Samus Aran's Phazon Suit. First 4 Figures has used the official game files in order to create an extremely accurate recreation of the Phazon suit, with pose inspiration taken from official Metroid artwork.

Looks incredibly on its own and really completes a display when put together with the Varia suit and Gravity suit statues.

We completely reengineered the original Varia suit model to make the Phazon suit by casting it entirely in transparent resin, adding over 25 LED lights through the suit and finished it off by adding a mirror base which really shows off the lights. When the lights are turned off, an internal IC chip allows for the lights to fade out slowly. The statue is hand finished and hand painted with metallic paints to give an authentic representation of the suits. Comes packed in a foam interior full colored box with a card of authenticity.

The Phazon Suit is highly limited at just 1500 pieces worldwide.

Height: 11 inches across base

SRP: $224.99

<![CDATA[ Buy a Life-Sized Snake Statue at Sam's Club ]]> Sam's Club plans to sell what looks to be a life-sized statue of old Snake starting next week. Unfortunately he won't be available as a twelve pack on a shelf next to 300 gallon drums of liquid butter. No, you're going to have to bid for Snake, that Snake in particular because Sam's Club only has one to auction away.

Wal-Mart blog Check Out reports that the auction will kick off next week and that you will be able to find it on the auctions page by searching for "metal gear solid".

Any would-be auctionees?

<![CDATA[ Tails Goes Bargain Basement ]]> While I was out grabbing lunch earlier I stopped in X-21, a store that does a lot of prop rentals and has a ton of amazing old furniture that you could never afford. I went down to the basement to see if they might have a cheap desk chair that wouldn't require a bank loan and who should I see but our good friend Mr. Miles "Tails" Prower. He stood about three feet tall and with his tail was about three feet wide. I inquired as to his price and was quoted $300 which considering his size was pretty cheap. So if you live in the SF Bay Area and are looking to take in a has-been video game character, he's waiting for you at the corner of Valencia and 20th. Bring cash.

<![CDATA[ Daiki's Spin On Mai Shiranui's T & A ]]> It would seem that SNK's buxom ninja Mai Shiranui is popular with the Japanese gamer. Maybe it's the constantly flaunted T and A? That's just my theory, as I've begun to notice a trend in Mai's poses throughout her recent PVC incarnations. Max Factory took great care to expose both earlier this year, with Aizu Project being a bit more blatant about it. Now, Daiki Industry is giving it a go, artistically exhibiting Mai's obscene proportions with a nice arm shelf and a timely gust of wind. It's due out in March of next year for 14,700 yen (approximately $135 US) and will make for a nice centerpiece. Who's next?

<![CDATA[ More Mai Shiranui = More T&A ]]> Wow. Who would've have thought lonely gamers would be treated to twice the Mai Shiranui in collectible form in such a short time frame? Well, word from NCSX is that The King of Fighters ninjitsu queen (who must have all of her bras custom made) will be coming in cold cast resin form this summer courtesy of Aizu Project.

Again focusing on the characters most dramatic assets, her T&A, Aizu Project ups the gratuitous double cleavage exposure from Kinu Nishimura's Max Factory version of Mai with this impossible pose. While the "T" shot doesn't show off the goods that well, I thought the "A" view was too hot for the front page (sorry RSS readership!), so you'll have to make the jump for the booty shot.

Yikes! Put this thing away if you ever get a girl back to your place.

The 1/7 scale Mai Shiranui figure will set importers back $165 USD and ship this July.

<![CDATA[ The Fabulous, Limited Edition Kratos Statue ]]> Sculptor Mark Newman was commissioned to create 100 of these lovely, blood spattered Kratos statues for the team that created the original God of War. Sure, this thing may be ancient in terms of video game news pieces, but it's—to borrow a phrase from Jaffe himself—fuckin' cool. These shots, including some pre-painted sculpts, were just recently added to the artist's deviantART gallery and are further whetting my appetite for the upcoming sequel and our pending interview with GoW2's Cory Barlog.

Thanks for the heads up, Patrick!

<![CDATA[ Revenge Of The Life-Sized Link Statues ]]>

Just when you thought we couldn't get yet another post out of the life-size Link statues, we have another one for you! This one is on eBay Australia, ships out of Germany and has a price tag of $1,199.00 listed in U.S. dollars. Or, if you prefer, you can pay the Buy It Now price of $2,499.00 which includes worldwide insured shipping. For some reason the buyer chose to tag the entry with such oddities as PS3, weta, and LOTR. I guess he figured once you rope a geek in, the rest just follows.

No one has bid on it as of yet, but you still have two whole days to make Link your very own special friend. Your dismembered buddy will arrive at your home in three separate crates. Some assembly required.

<![CDATA[ Giant Link Statue Spotted In Vancouver ]]>

Kotakuite Landon L. had read yesterday's story about Nintendo of Canada's life size Link statue sweepstakes and, I'm sure, desperately desired to have the stationary hero all to himself. As he was walking through the streets of Vancouver, he happened upon an EB Games that was displaying a giant Link statue right in their front window. Despite being hassled by employees for snapping this photo with his phone, he was able to escape down the street with his prize and send it off to us here.

Could this be the statue they are giving away? Well, not this particular one, obviously, but one like it? It would be pretty damn sweet if it was. But, I still say the shipping fee is going to be a bitch.

<![CDATA[ Canadians Get Life Size Link Statue ]]> Well, one lucky Canadian will anyway. Carrying on the Nintendo of Japan tradition of giving away really cool stuff, Nintendo of Canada is holding a sweepstakes in which they will be giving away a life size collectible Link statue as a grand prize. Three runners up will receive a collectible Link "statuette".

There not many details as to the size of this hefty prize, but be warned, the rules state that it is the winner's responsibility to pay for taxes and shipping costs. All entries must be received by January 31st for the drawing that will be held sometime around Valentine's Day.

I wonder what the delivery fee for an elf-like Hyrule hero to your front door actually is?

Ohhhh Canada, you could win a giant Link

<![CDATA[ And The Bronze Mario Award Goes To... ]]> ITSA M... AH FUCK ITThere is a ton of cool stuff over at the Video Game Memorabilia Museum, including this Oscar-esque bronze Mario statue. Normally adorning a marble base, this statue is, according to its owner, normally only given out in rare circumstances. These include "Nintendo Long Service Staff" awards, for those in the employ of the company for more than twenty years, and worldwide competition winners. Obviously, the latter is the easier of the two.

The owner also states that the statues are made by none other than R.S Owens, the Chicago based manufacturer responsible for fabricating the famous Oscar statue. They also make Emmys, Clios, MTV Video Music Awards and the NFL's MVP trophy, but those just don't have the same allure.

If I were to ever beat anyone to death with a blunt object, I pray to the Nintendo gods that I get to do it with a bronze Mario statue. Wait. What did I just say?
