<![CDATA[New Star Ocean: First Departure PSP Screens]]> Well, Japan has had this one for almost a year now and it's finally North America's turn to get their hands on it. Star Ocean: First Departure, which is a remake of the first Star Ocean game, will be hitting the states on October 21st. The game looks pretty solid and if you're a Star Ocean fan, you should be seriously considering picking this one up.

<![CDATA[Show Us Your Tats]]> Two more readers have decided to permanently mark their bodies to show how much they love gaming (and wearing sleeves for job interviews).

The first — Jim Osterhout — had his Fallout tat done back in 2005. A stylish, almost calligraphic, Vault Boy in black ink with yellow and red highlights (and a bonus penguin). Jim informs us that he has taken to telling non-gamers that it is a picture of him.

Secondly, Adam Zweig sent pics of his impressive, full-color sleeve tattoo featuring "Sonic, Shy-Guys, Paper Mario, Poe, Ghoul, Nel from Star Ocean, C&C Renegade Dead 6 Logo". Bet that hurt.

Weirdly, both pics arrived in my inbox within ten minutes of one another. Is this what it is like being Warren Ellis? Are you lot going to start sending in Polaroids of your video-game-themed genital modifications now?

Thank you, no.

<![CDATA[Star Ocean Sails Special Edition PSP]]> Square Enix is there whenever you need sequels or branded goods, and this time the company is back with Star Ocean: First Departure and a Star Ocean branded PSP Slim & Lite. Both will be bundled in a special First Departure Eternal Edition pack on sale December 27th for ¥24,849 ($216). Sure, it's gonna sell big an all, but what we really like is the PSP pouch. It looks like a space blanket! That, after the jump.

Today in Tokyo, Square-Enix held a warm-up for its Final Fantasy Party. A slew of titles were announced, including Chocobo's Dungeon: Toki-Wasure no Meikyuu and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for the Wii. Remake-wise, there's Star Ocean 1 and Star Ocean 2 for the PSP. A new Star Ocean game was also announced for an undecided platform. This August, the DS will see Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates. Showing that the PS2 is not quite yet dead, Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac Job System is schedule for an August release. The biggest news of the presser? Square-Enix will be making its first simultaneous release with RPG The Last Remnant for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. That game has yet to be dated.
