He's 86 years-old. But if he was a youngster, would he go into comic books?

"If I were young now and I wanted to do stories," Lee told The Guardian, "I would very much want to get into the videogame business because it's the most exciting."

While Marvel has licensed its characters out to developers for game development, Lee's involvement seems largely hands-off.

"Videogames and movies are the most exciting forms of entertainment," he continues. "But a videogame in a way is more imaginative, it has more variety. In a movie you stick to the plotline, in a videogame you go in a million different directions. I have no idea how they're able to do that. It's like a miracle."

Know what's an even bigger miracle? When they make good games.

<![CDATA[Stan Lee's Going To Be In A Video Game]]> The man who gets the most glory for creating and co-creating Marvel Comics super-hero icons will have a cameo in an upcoming Activision game. No word if his voice-over work includes the word "Excelsior."

The 86-year-old "publisher emeritus" of Marvel Comics and co-creator of Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four and X-Men will appear as an as-yet unknown supporting character in this fall's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2. Lee is doing voice-work for the character.

"I am thrilled to be making my first onscreen videogame cameo in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2," Lee was quoted as saying in an Activision press release that lacked Lee's standard verbal verve. Maybe this is how he really talks? "It's such a kick to see characters that I've helped create come to life in the game and now I'm a part of the Marvel videogame universe!"

Activision reports that this is Lee's first appearance in a video game. The cultural icon has made numerous cameos in movies, including the recent Spider-Man films.

No word from Activision as to whether Lee will be an unlockable, playable character.

<![CDATA[Stan Lee Says Sometimes Games Look Better Than Movies]]> Let's jump right in. Here's Spider-Man creator Stan Lee talking about video games at Comic Con:

When you talk about games evolving over the years and becoming more like movies, in many ways, they've gone beyond movies," he said. "To do a movie is difficult, but it's linear. There's a beginning, a middle and an end, and that's it — you write a story.

In a videogame, you're writing many stories within the story. It's a totally different structure and a totally different philosophy of writing and, I think, a much, much more difficult one. I get the feeling more work goes into these videogames than even goes into the movies.

I marvel at the fact the games look as good, and in some cases better, as the most expensive movies. [Those] guys are just geniuses. Now you watch one of these games and it's like watching the greatest superhero movie, except you're part of it. It's indescribable.

Yep, Stan Lee is awesome. But we knew that.

<![CDATA[The Incredible Hulk And Stan Lee's Rage]]> Why do I continue to post these behind-the-scenes vignettes for Sega's new Incredible Hulk video game, despite the fact that they hardly every offer any real new insight into what goes into creating a game of this magnitude? It's all about Stan Lee, really. The man fascinates me, and the Hulk is a big part of why. The man is always cheerful, always courteous, always polite and clean...you just know that somewhere inside him there's a Hulk waiting to come out. I won't rest until I've got a video of Stan Lee screaming "F**K" and punching something. This is my quest. It'll probably never happen, but it's good to have a dream.]]> http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=5011062&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[Iron Man Voice Acting With Downy Downey Jr.]]> Here's another in the series of the Victor Lucas narrated shorts for Sega's Iron Man video game, this time featuring the voice acting talents of a Robert Downey Jr. who seems to have a soft lining of goose down on his head, which they explain is for an upcoming role. He doesn't make a good blond, but he does make a damn fine Tony Stark. Even Stan "The Man" Lee thinks so! Listening to Downey Jr. read the lines, we can at least rest assured that the game will be a joy to listen to as well as look at. Here's hoping the gameplay follows suit!]]> http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=380459&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[Disney Gets Stan Lee To Make Some Stuff]]> Stan "The Man" Lee, co-creator of enduring Marvel properties like Spider-man, X-Men and the Fantastic Four, and his company POW! Entertainment have inked a deal with Disney to create new content and a host of new super characters.

Stan's new superheroes—with colorful names like Doubleman, Thunder Rider, Nightbird and Blaze—will be developed for films, television, books and, of course, video games, reports the BBC.

While Stan's recent creations, like Stripperella, Lightman, and re-imagined versions of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman for DC Comics, weren't exactly on-par popularity-wise with his previous work, we'll have to wait to see what he comes up with before mocking him for it.

Ah, I'm just teasing old Stan. If I can come up with my own name when I'm 85, I'll feel pretty damn proud.
