@resvrgam: It's the same intro from the SSF2 Turbo arcade game, but HD-ized. It's just like the rest of the game - animation same number of frames, same character shapes, but details filled in. #streetfighterii
@Rachel Fogg: i understand that it looks bad.. but the whole game was like that. the actual fighting suffered aesthetically from the decision not to update any frames, because it would have altered how the game played.
now i know this is the intro, but i think they were probably thinking they should keep it all the same.. instead of having this fully animated intro and choppy game. #streetfighterii
Akuma in that game is fricken ridiculous. I beat every guy in the game without losing to get to Akuma. And then I probably fought Akuma like 50 times before beating him.
@Martyn Cox: I believe that is incorrect and that the 'rules' are that games submitted for approval after 1/1/2009 have to have rtophy support. Games submitted before 1/1/2009 for release later in 09 were grandfathered in, it seems.
Sorry, SFIIHD. You had your chance, you were good in you day, but didn't reckon on going to head to head against the awesome powerhouse that is Noby Noby Boy for £3.
@Daniel Hinkles: you mean supersonic acrobatic rocket powered battle cars? come on guys, that's a name that just demands to be said out loud time and time again! best title ever!
On the subject of SF2THDR... it got here too late... I might pick it up one day, but as SF4 is in the post, I can't see myself picking it up for a long time. (especially as they havent fixed any of the bugs from the US release)
I understand many purchased the game regardless, but I can't help believe that the delays really hurt SFIIHD being released so close to the SFIV launch. Granted, SFIIHD is cheaper than SFIV and technically a different game, but I gotta imagine a lot of people will just apply their $15 to the purchase of SFIV rather than SFIIHD, unless they are rabid Deejay and T-Hawk fans.
I played the Xbox 360 version almost two weeks ago at the Street Fighter Club event. All of the characters were present and the game felt very finished. Akuma was selectable on the character select screen by pushing up on the top row. All of the stages were selectable as well. At the event, we were only playing local multiplayer, so there's a possibility that the other modes needed to get finished before sending it out for approval.
SF4 will be out in February, but trust me when I say that SF4 is an entirely different beast compared to HD Remix. The rulesets are the same but there are enough variables that makes SF4 a completely different kind of fighting game.
The people who are crying about the price are the ones that can't play Street Fighter. They live in their little worlds where throwing, using one move/tactic repeatedly, excessive blocking, pinning someone to a corner, and more throwing are considered "cheap". I despise you people. Go get an arcade stick and a fucking clue. If you want a real bargain, add Six Buttons to your Live account or SixButtons to your PSN account and prepared to get beasted on FOR FREE by me.

Consider yourself added. My PSN is rockmanjoey if you are interested to add me. I got a HRAP3 and changed the buttons to Sanwas so I really wish to test out the stick on my PS3 for once other than my PC.
@rockmanjoey: I'll add you. I'm a decent player (i.e., good yet not cheesy) and I'm going to get a stick to play with (okay okay, that did not sound right at ALL!!!) and we go at it like all madden (that also didn't sound right).

The question I am asking myself: Is Akuma unlockable without having to manipulate particles in space? Because I was never able to manage it in the original.
@SoulPyro: They'd have to be pretty full of themselves to think they could become the most expensive game on Live after the ridiculous delays, horrid soundtrack, and sloppy netcode performance thus far. This coming from a 15+ year SF fanatic.

I never said it didn't always look jerky...it's just more obvious now.
Really, the only thing they would have had to do was like add like...8 more frames. #streetfighterii
11/04/09
Right, right...it was always jerky...but y'know...if you're going to update the graphics, you could spare like 3 hours fixing up that tongue.
Then again.....it's only like a 27 minute opening....why waste the time LOL! #streetfighterii
11/04/09
Well Cammy was always the kinky girl...the licking of the tongue is suppose to be a 'Hoho!' moment. It's sexy when a girl or guy does it.
Then again...it might be my oral fixation coming to light. :cough: #streetfighterii

And they didn't! So I guess everyone wins.

LOL! Well, animation no matter how small can be a real pain in the ass...
