The co-op in this game is extremely fun, but like any platformer there are some cheap deaths. Even the camera kills in the later levels, but my god if it isn't a blast.

Hard as hell, though.

loved the game. plus, and i know it seems kinda silly, i liked the fact that this $10 game gave me a free gamer pic and free theme; something my $60 games charge me for.

It's a great little game, with a steep learning curve. The joy of it is that the difficult starts off very low, so even novice gamers can have a bash at the first 10 level or so. The long-time lovers of platform games have lots to enjoy here - while the learning curve is steep, it has few points that you can't clear after a handul of attempts.

The real takeaway from the game should be how much personality and polished presentation you can inject into a $10 downloadable title. It puts a lot of it's XBLA competitors to shame.

I love this game. I have had to use the suicide option twice when I fell through some scenery into perpetual freefall, but that aside this is an awesome platformer.

Worth a mention is the countdown button (left trigger) which during multiplayer will bring up a three second countdown so you can both splode off each other at exactly the same time for double splodes. This beats the hell out of trying to compensate for latency.

@Ueziel: i totally agree, that was one of the couple of gripes i had with the game. splosion man has a sonic the hedgehog type vibe... but even that series wouldnt have been as well received if sonic didnt look cool.

the game is so cool and the lead character deserved an equally cool design.

We now have two painfully hard platformers with hilarious songs in them: Skullmonkeys ("Bonus Room") and 'Splosion Man (Doughnut song).

I hope this list becomes longer... as long as the games don't get as ball-slammingly hard as Skullmonkeys was.

I only played the demo, so I can't fully review the game, but I thought it was decent. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. It was funny and kinda fun, but nothing incredible, so I didn't buy it.

@KingDavid73: This is one game where the demo didn't do a very good job of representing the game as a whole, as the early levels were easy and didn't squeeze your brain like a wet sponge to wring out every iota of coordination and puzzle solvent.

er how is this a good deal? its only a good deal depending on the quality of the games, not the price of the games.and the only game there in that list that i think is any way worth its OWN price is probably the upcoming shadow complex.from wat ive seen and read.turtles in time? what? Trials HD? wtf is that?Splosion man? probly alright but not a patch on castles crashers ( which is imo is the best arcade game available next to geometry wars1 n 2) and capcom vs marvel 2, probly good, but not worth draggin u into spending 70 quid to get a tenner free.

does this marketing shit actually work on people?

@Mark Patterson: It's a good deal because it's there for the people who were planning on purchasing or were thinking about purchasing all of the games anyway. Think of it as a bonus whereas there didn't need to be nor was there one before. And really, quality is in the eyes of the beholder. From your statements: "the only game there in that list that i think is any way worth its OWN price is probably the upcoming shadow complex". I found Splosion man well worth a measly 800 points and bought it before I even knew about the deal, so to me it was worth it. It doesn't have to be castle crashers to be good. To others, that game might be Turtles reshelled, the highly anticipated Capcom vs. Marvel 2, whose hard-copy PS2 disc usually runs you around $80-$100, or Trials HD or as you succintly described it as: wtf is that? How can you say its not worth the price when you don't even know what it is?

Marketing like this works because it's a good deal or a bonus for some people that have the resources or the desire to take advantage of it. On the other hand, no one is forcing you to buy all five games, so how is it, in any way a "bad" deal? To me, any deal that could potentially benefit you is a good deal. The only bad deals are the ones where you get the short end of the stick.

Aaah....see! The marketing is working! I agree, I think I'm looking forward to Trials HD also even though I didn't have much interest in it before. It looks fun, through I doubt I will be getting all five games.

Well, that's a pretty nice deal. Too bad I'm getting Shadow Complex and nothing else.

Also, anybody else tried out the new Netflix browser yet? Runs great. Found some stuff I didn't even know was streamable after installing the update last night.
