First thought when I saw the top most pic with the green and red eye lights:

    Christmas Themed Assassinations!

Also: Remind me never to accept one of your gang bang invites.

Coop is great, but please tell me that they still have the standard Splinter Cell style versus mode. I've had Conviction on reserve for two years now, and absolutely loved versus modes in Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory. Double Agent was ok, but not the same. If Conviction ditched versus, I'll probably have to cancel my preorder. :(

    Dear Miss Glasser,

I was deeply offended by your article in which you stated that in Russia we are unable to afford high walls. Let me tell you that the walls surrounding my house are at least 2 feet ta- HEY WHAT THE HELL IS THAT DOG DOING IN MY BACKYARD?!? HOW THE HELL DID HE GET THERE?

    ugh nm,

@Deadened: By this I hope you mean Splinter Cell vs Army of Two. If so then I completely agree.

One of my favorite multiplayer experiences all year has been Spec Ops in MW2. Anything that comes close to approximating that experience (and this looks to take it even further) is gravy in my book.

I really like the idea of making co-op separate from the solo game. I'm on dial-up, so multi-player isn't a selling point for me. I understand why developers include co-op and other multiplayer, but making it required to be able to play the game properly (Gears of War, Army of Two, Resident Evil 5) just means that solo gamers won't care. Hopefully we'll get more games like this and Modern Warfare 2.

I don't care if doing it alone makes it harder. I DO NOT WANT to play this mode with a "buddy". I want to do it myself. If it was not tied to the story I would not mess with this but sadly it is so I have no choice.

Games with significant cooperative elements need to market with different means. I thought, with Left4Dead, this game, Army of Two, and other games where coop is a significant experience in the game, the publishers ought to come up with a plan where if you buy more than 1 game at once, then you get a volume discount on all of the games... Ie, if you and a friend buy this game together, then you both get $5 off or a $10 instore gift card or something.

I'm just thinking to myself that while I love coop games, I'd have a tough time urging one of my buddies to pick this game up because it might be otherwise kind of meh.

@Brazell: Or even include an extra disc with just the multiplayer component. I think some PC games have done this in the past, but I can't remember which ones.

In any case, I think this is a great argument for keeping local multiplayer an option as well. Splitscreen might not be ideal, but it beats watching your buddy play by himself.

@Showmeyomoves!: Great point. I got together with some friends last week and played split screen codmw2 spec ops levels, and some regular mp as well (offline ffa, no hud, minimal health). Most fun I have had in a LONG time. I've been gaming so much online that I lost touch with the greatness that is split screen. Now we're planning a lan party for january.

@coffinmouth: New Super Mario Bros. Wii is all about the offline multiplayer too. Haven't had that much fun since the old GTA2 and Unreal Tournament LAN-parties.
