I was really impressed with Tumble Bees last night at the EA event.

The game is sort of like a blend between Hexic and Scrabble. The playing field is a honeycomb, but still looks a lot like the gem game and instead of the colored pieces you have letters. The object of the game is top tap on the letters to spell out words, thus clearing the field. There's also wildcards and bonus pieces, but that just adds to the game. Every time you spell a word you fill up a pot with honey, once it's totally full you win the game.

As with most successful casual games, it sounds overly simplistic, but it's also devilishly addictive and the best part? It actually improves your spelling and vocabulary. I can't wait to play a bit more of this Pogo.com game when I get home and, better still, sit down Tristan (now six, thank you very much) in front of the game and see how he does with it.

<![CDATA[Tetris In Fridge Magnets]]>

Gearheaded big brother site Gizmodo dug up these cool Tetris magnets that are way better than the alphabet letters currently adorning my fridge. Someone must figure out how to wire the Tetris theme song through the ice box, and we can die happy. Get to it!

<![CDATA[OMG, PlayStation 3 Controller Spelling Mistake [Update: It's Real]]]>

Kotakuite Oly hit Sony's super swish Ginza showroom, which was not only displaying the PlayStation 3 for all to see, but a glaring spelling error. Instead of "SELECT", the PS3 controller reads "SERECT". Even though Sony's been batting fly balls of late, we're not going to poke fun. That would be rude. Spelling in a foreign language is hard, especially when it's an unusual word like "select".

Update: It's been confirmed. This mistake is real. Note that the console in the picture at Sony's Ginza showroom is an actual PS3 and not a mock-up.

Hit the jump for a few more pics.

Update: I've posted all the images of the controller, which include the two originals and the ones I posted. Take a look after the jump.

The first batch of Xbox Live Diamond cards started hitting mailboxes this week complete with one glaring typo. Even I know you don't spell through that way.
