    A good example of Lefty oppression in video games are peripherals, like lightguns. I loved the Guncon 2 as it was perfect in either hand and was saddened to see that the PS3 version has a silly analog nub on the left side of the weapon when it could easily have gone below the weapon barrel.

    So because of this, Time Crisis 4 is another game lefties can't play. Same with Silent Scope games on the old Xbox if you wanted to use the light gun made for it.

    At least is a downloadable game. So that means they can patch it... It is still pretty lame, it's just common sense to make the the interface flippable if you are using touch controls on your game.

    @IvanDashSmith: They don't actually patch, but they do offer upgrades, so it's more like downloading the game again but with something extra or fixed.

    @AllOfUsAreLost.: i've always thought about how weird it was that there wasn't. Especially since the modern touchpad is symmetrical around a vertical axis (if you sub the d-pad for the buttons, which is not a big deal)


    I've always thought it was kinda genius, though, that the wii/nunchuk combo can be flipped for lefties by just switching which hand holds which component.


    But this is a big deal because the screen is apparently blocked in a left hand configuration. Stephen's description isn't being mapped out properly in my head, but i think that's what it is.

    comes from the latin, which means right-handed. So, strictly speaking, yes, right-handed people are more "dextrous" than left-handed.


    On a nice sidenote: Left-handed is "sinister" in latin.

    Just to draw a line under this, not every person in Britain likes terrible comedy.


    For instance, quite a lot of us detest the comedy (and calling it comedy is a long stretch of both the imagination, and one's patience) of Lee Evans, Peter Kay, and Chubby Brown. The same can be said for the 118, and Compare the Meerkat advertisements.

    @Kobun: Unlike this stylus situation, NORMAL controls use both hands. Therefore, there is no need to switch for lefties.

    @sentroshi: It's mentioned in a episode of House M.D. as well. Apparently, with all controls made for proper handed people, (I kid, my father is a lefty) lefties are left with more difficult access to features the encourage safety.

    My only response would be to try it yourself for a day. If you're right-handed, try writing out your bills this month with your left hand. Try fixing a sandwich. Try using a Wiimote in your left hand, or play a DS game with lefty flip turned on. Lemme know how it works out.


    Trying to use my right hand (another southpaw here) for stuff is like playing an NES game where the B button makes you jump: while it's doable, it just feels so very wrong.

    I'm ambi but leaning right, and I can't write worth crap with my left hand.


    A stylus, as Ferkner says, is the same idea as a pen or pencil. This would be terrible for true leftys or ambi leaning left.
