Eh... squash the beef. Gaming feuds and rivalries can only end badly. By badly I mean over publicized showdowns broadcast in Time Square for absurds amounts of money just for people to forget who the victor was days later.
The more of these Soulja Boy stories I read, the more I'm convinced that he's just a character created by some brilliant comedian to parody the rap and gamer cultures.
so from now on, when i sees soulja boy posts? im just gonna talk wu-tang, cause it turns out there's a few dozen of you guys here with awesome taste in hip-hop, and chances are, you'll be in here with me defending the genre from all the kids who think the radio's where it's at.
i havent yet listened to RZA's digi-snacks, how'd that fare? he's the shoopadoop, no doubt, but its hard for me to get into bobby digital's solo efforts sometimes. also, what'd you think of 8 diagrams? holla at a ninja!
@Gorilla Snow is hot for Snorlax.: you know, its hard to pick favorites off 36 chambers of death, kid. but on that one? Meth and co tear it up like usual, but i was particularly fond of inspectah deck's verse. he just drops short ones like that, or in triumph, and really stands out. anyway, good call.
@TheIrishNinja: I recently bought Killarmy's Silent Weapons For Quiet Wars album for the fourth damn time. I really wish people would stop stealing it. In case you're wondering what this has to do with Wu-Tang, RZA laid out a few tracks and his younger brother, 9th Prince, is an emcee. I don't now if the rest of Killarmy's albums are as good, but Silent Wepaons is hella solid.
@TheIrishNinja: Good hip-hop? I'm currently loving Ludacris and Busta, always loving Outkast, and in serious love with 50 Cent's forthcoming spoken word album, "Blood on the Sand". Can I be in da club?
@dead_red_eyes: that's pretty much what i expected from both. if 8 diagrams is better than, say, masta killa's "no said date" id be impressed, that was the last wu album i really dug.
@GretzkyR99: Rick, de la i can get into, ive not heard of anything past that. recommendations?
I would be a horrible sod and wish Soulja boy to get dropped by his record label. But in a time where myspace music and YouTube allows you to get your music out there virally anyway - it wouldn't make a difference.
It's also sad how 'that' *points to embedded video* will probably end up being better than his actual video. Shoot, it probably is!
Wow, more garbage from this youtubed-birth rapper? God, I just hate that damned hi-hat/closed-hats that is constantly being used in these types of songs, very boring builds and not very original placements of these hi-hats/closed-hats.
And that intro just really killed the song, never really expected the song to be good anyway. The "N word" usage was just stupid and racist. It was also made the song more tasteless.
I am still surprised to see that people of my generation likes to listen to this garbage.

Imagine this: Soulja Boy.
-Ok you have that image in you head? Now imagine THIS:
"Soulja Boy, editor of Kotaku." O.o
TIME PARADOX!

Worse than a time paradox. That's more like the apocalypse.

@Nexus6: i honestly had to go look that dude up. his name being attached to slum village reminds me of JD, so im interested.
@Bergerac: adding keith to the list.
