This is actually a pretty cool feature that I'd like to see become a weekly occurrence and I hope more of the Kotakitors (Kotaku Editors) adopt. It's hard to believe that there's even more news than the obscene amounts you already bring us.
Don't want to pull the old and boring "This is not news"-card
But all those features were pretty much expected, and all those things were already available in Soul Calibur IV. Could've focused on the new additions instead, since they seem to add skulls, elven ears and little pets sitting calmly on your should while you wager battles that will determine the fate of the world.
@Wahrheit: You were expecting continued support for SCIV? Hoenstly, that's just wishful thinking. Also, in my opinion, this is a great move, PSP needs a SC game.
The new PS3 motion controller seems interesting. I wonder if I will have to learn to eletric boogaloo in order to fully get into the Lighting Bolt Action when MGS:Rising comes out.
@teknx: Yes, but for the less dancing-inclined gamers, I hear the game will come bundled with jumper cables to attach to your nipples. "Raiden? RAIDEN? RAIEEEYYYOOARRROOMMAAAGHAA!!"
Kratos can suck a banana. Don't get me wrong, he's an awesome character, but he's gonna be a ranged character, and I loathe those. Also I'm much more excited about the mustache dude. He looks like barrels of awesome.
@glassdevaney: I can feel ya to a certain extent, but at least the PSP does have ways that you can play it hooked up to a TV screen.
Portable gaming used to be my thing back when I was a kid, but nowadays I'd just rather play this stuff on the television. Lugging a portable system around with me - regardless of how small, light, and trendy-looking it is - will always remind me of being the absolute insufferable geek I was in grade school. Doesn't stop me from bringing my DS to the waiting room, though.
The main problem I think I'll have with Soul Calibur PSP is controls. From what I've heard of the friend of mine who has Darkstalkers PSP, you have to mod your d-pad just to make that shit not torture to play. If there is a way to plug the PSP into a TV, and then plug a PS2 controller into the PSP, I'll be all over that shit like a fat princess on cake.
@the7k: I think it's because Darkstalkers is more of a button masher type. At least I feel like I'm button mashing when I play Darkstalkers as compared to Tekken. The combos in Tekken are very fluid on the PSP. (I love fighting games, even if I'm not pure awesome at them.)
I don't have Mortal Kombat for the PSP because it just plain sucks, but I have Darkstalkers and Tekken 5 and Guilty Gear XX Reloaded and they all play awesomely.
I plan on getting SC and Tekken 6 for the PSP as well when they come out.
@SeraphX2: Well, he wasn't saying the buttons were bad, just the d-pad.
I don't think you can call Darkstalkers a button-masher anyway. There is a very clear progression in the Hunter Chains - its not like you can chain any attack with any other attack. The only thing Darkstalkers is guilty of is being extremely fast pasted, and just like F-Zero, that's the very reason I love it. (Well, that and the character designs.)
@the7k: Although, one thing that the PSP could use as far as six-button fighters are concerned is... well, six face buttons. I hate having attack buttons on the shoulder buttons, it's just a pain progressing from Square, to Triangle, to L1 in a combo.

If you really want to play it that bad on the PS3, then buy Soul Calibur IV.
The reason this game exists is because they wanted to make a portable Soul Calibur.
