Whats the point of temp banning someone on a free service? Sure they cant access the account for a while, but they can just make a new one...
Then again, isnt the javelin unlocked after a decent while? So I guess it would be a slight deterrent...
Im bit surprised there isnt a lot of people just setting up easy kills for one another for nukes (its a problem on the PC)...especially on PSN where you dont have to worry about screwing up your K/D by making a new account

It seems like having broken multiplayer in a title built around multiplayer would be embarrassing, especially if said title happens to be one of the biggest games of the year.

IW needs to fix the game. End of story.

If it's deemed so game-breakingly important that it needs to be addressed, patch the game.

GT sells based on it's reputation and the long development time has set expectations way too high for it to be as big of a critical success as it probably should be. Kind of like if you were told you would get to meet God but St Peter turned up instead. Sure it would be life changing but you would always have that little bit of disappointment in your mouth.
If Forza has even one improvement on this demo (something lame like the break light has more bloom) then we will see comparison video's leading up the launch.

Really the only thing Forza has is the storefront for tuning setups. The paint jobs are nice but it is hell to find a decent one, and even worse hell to make them (No mirroring option?!?! Is that even possible to forget such a basic function?). Buying auction cars is pointless because you get most of them for free. It's a neat system but needs some work in the implementation.

I'd been waiting to see what the Forza fans were holding over GT in terms of the damage model, and it's basically the one from TOCA 3, with fewer incidental parts (though knocking off someone's windshield wipers looks very silly...) and maybe a couple more key components. If you brush someone with your bumper repeatedly, the whole front of your car will get scratched and beat up because that zone has lost too many hit points... so if GT5 actually has some kind of locational damage modelling beyond tying overall damage to big chunks of car, they should come out ahead.
I do like how in Forza 3 it's easier to keep a car on the edge of control - drifting is quite natural with all the assists off, where in GT it seems suicidal. On the other hand, Forza has grass and orange painted areas that catch you like a net and bog you down ridiculously quickly... I think PD got grass figured out by GT4 when it stopped magically spinning you at low speeds.
I hadn't heard about the head tracking feature - if that works without a special head reflector (these systems have been around for ages for PC sims) then it could be the best cockpit cam ever... though NFS: Shift did an amazing job with theirs, freely looking to the sides without crashing would make it a viable option to use in game.

a) They've gone back and made massive upgrades after seeing what the competition now has to offer
b) Yamauchi's ego is oblivious to the fact that the fanbase isn't going to wait forever while he fiddle-farts around with minutia. GT4 was released in January of 2005, Yamauchi-san. Time to wrap up that sequel!
Just wait- right as GT5 is almost ready for release, it'll be suddenly delayed and moved to the soon-to-be-released PS4.

c) the game is really huge and takes a long time to make.

Since when did we have it so good that we complained about the lack of video games being unavailable at our disposal? Go read a book about cars or somethin to fill the time, I donno man..I can list 1000 things to do until this game comes out..go get laid you f'uc

To suggest that GT4 will be "perfection" is ridiculous, and you know it. I'm sure it'll be a great but flawed game, just like the first 4.
Face it- when Polyphony had the "realistic racing sim for a console" market cornered, people would tolerate these endless delays for a game that, in the end, showed little improvement over its predecessor. Now that other games are offering equivalent graphics and physics plus superior online play, damage modeling and AI, a lot of people (like me) are bailing on the Gran Turismo hype train.
No amount of jazzy menu music, useless photo modes or padding of the car roster with 800 variants of Dacia Sanderos and Nissan Cubes is going to change that.

Then bail. And go on with your life. And most importantly, shut up about it.

comparing Polyphony a company who makes games and releases many iterations of them, and who last released a game this year.... comparing them to 3D Realms, a company which has not made a single game since 1997
thats such a huge troll comment comparing them to 3D Realms. the game was announced in 2006 and they wrote an engine from the ground up for it --- whats your damn rush with this game? I really don't get anybody's argument about it taking so long, who the fuck cares... play other games while you wait.
gamers are such impatient fucktards - yet complain when a developer churns out a new sequel to a game every year... honestly ppl will have a little moan about everything "too much love put into making the game" ... "not enough love put into making the game"... get over it, tons of other games to play while we wait for this. it is so obvious this is not vaporware like Duke Nukem Forever, the two cannot be compared.

If Prologue was the concept model, this is the test model before mass production. The car is almost nearly done, far past the concept phase, and almost ready to be let loose. Now they're just running laps, doing the last bit of safety checks, some preliminary hype, and getting the marketing guys ready based on initial public impressions.
It's a beta.

PLAYSTATION!!!
Thanks for the Gamemories!
My fondness memories of PS are playing Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid. I bought Tomb Raider on PS3 today to celebrate. Wow does it look dated. It's still fun though.

Although I would have incorporated LBP's slap into the assassination (if I could draw like that).
The stuffing coming out is a nice touch though
