'The World's Hardest Game' -- But Is It Really?

Now, just because I am teh fail at this flash game does not mean I accept that it is the World's Hardest. Because when I suck at something I call in reinforcements and in that case it's Kotakopolis.

But here is the self-styled "World's Hardest Game" and I've only finished one level of it over a week of trying during down-time at work. I get the concept on the second board but not how to grab the dot. The solution to the first one is pretty apparent.

I'm certain that someone with uncanny pattern-recognition abilities could shut this game down inside of 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the solutions do not materialize as easily for me. So maybe that someone is you. Take a crack at it. And then, to take a break, play Ikaruga.

Elite Also Selling Out in Osaka

It's not only Akihabara where the Xbox 360 Elite is selling out, but also Osaka's Den-Den Town. The console went on sale October 11th for ¥45,524 (US $388). By October 12th, the Elite had sold out in Akihabara; however, it wasn't until the 14th that the console sold out in Den-Den Town. There were only something like 5,000 of these consoles at launch. Even in a territory where Xbox is hardly popular, that number certainly does not look like enough.

Boy Fries Himself with Hot Hot Xbox 360

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Apparently, a 14 year-old North Carolina boy was almost killed trying to keep his Xbox 360 from overheating. According to local news, the boy's mother found her son unconscious after he attempted to submerge the console in a pan of water. "When I left to go next door he was playing a game but when I got back he was laying on his back on the floor and unconscious," she said. The console, wrapped in plastic and tape, was still plugged in. The kid has read online that he could keep his 360 from over heating by cooling its power supply. By the time the ambulance showed up, the boy had regained consciousness. Thankfully, when the ambulance arrived, the boy had regained his senses. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and suffered small burns on his hand and foot. Kids remember: No matter what the internet says, electricity and water are NOT friends. They're not even on speaking terms.

FF 13 Still Creeping Along

Final Fantasy XIII is a big game. Big games take time. It looks like FF XIII is going to take a friggin' long time. Sony press materials say that the big PS3 PRG is now thirteen percent done. Thirteen percent? How lucky! It's light years ahead of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which is only 1.3 percent complete. Lemme get this straight: thirteen percent for FF XIII and 1.3 percent for FF Versus XIII? That's kinda freaky!

Wii Steering Wheel, Leatherized

If Mario Andretti walked in and saw you playing some racing game on the Wii, what would be say? "Get a life" or "That's not real racing"? Nope. He'd say, "What the hell am I doing in your house?" and then "Why isn't your steering wheel covered in leather?" One gamer went the extra mile to appease Mr. Andretti, and covered his steering wheel with cow skin in celebration of beloved diesel sports. Here's what he had to say about the product:
Overall I think it turned out pretty well. It certainly feels more comfortable in my hands now that the leather is on it (what steering wheel doesn't feel more comfortable with leather on it?)
Apparently, none.

Clip: Japanese Talk, WHAT Is That?!

A few days back, we did a post on a Wii celebrity boxing segment featured on Japanese TV show Waratte Iitomo! Tamori, the host, does an impersonation of famous female fight announcer while introducing the celeb contestants. A large pasty man in a Starbucks apron saw the clip between Miho Kanno and Arisa Mizuki and decided to make a retort to a joke and a language he doesn't understand. Oh! And he tries to be funny. Geez, just imagine if the pasty apron man and the P3 Triple dude made one of these clips together. No, wait. Don't. It'll make your brain hurt. More »
