"Haunted House Simulator" alone makes me seriously consider buying what in all likeliness is probably a big pile of horse-shit on a DVD. But the European cover somehow manages to undo all the goodwill that the American box built up :( that level of badness reminds me of SNES game covers like "Bust A Move" and "Phalanx".
also- who wants to take bets on who will get screwed over worse (between U.S. and Europe) for Sin and Punishment 2 cover art mutilation when it finally heads west?
Fuuuuuckiiiiiiing auuuugh. I was actually considering buying this game if it got decent reviews but I'm not willing to take this to a counter in a real-life shop and buy it from a person.
No, I think the creep factor is there in the European cover art. Those fingers peeking out from that girl? Those can't be hers. Those belong to a man, probably dead.
That has to be the worst tagline EVER for a "horror" game. I mean seriously...the Grudge (or at least the first) didn't screw around when it came to suspense and scares.
Oh, well, as we all know, the European cover is based on the Hiding Behind Your Couch For Safety maneuver taught to so many impressionable youths in Europe by letting them watch Dr. Who. After all, hiding behind a couch provide +5 AC against attacking Daleks and other assorted scary aliens and monsters.
The European version looks like it could be a bad DFS advert. I'm half expecting a very poor, furniture themed version of a popular rock song to be the sound track.
Even if this was available on a "buy now, pay nothing till next year." deal, I'd still give it a miss.
@Forsakyn: It doesn't look like a Treasure game at all. That's actually one of my complaints about the N64 original. It and Light Crusader are the odd ducks in the company with a far more serious style and traditional story than usual. I also didn't find the game fun; the controls are excellent for what it is, but it's just missing something.

Alternatively, laughter will also be a primary reaction to a child furiously opening this as a Christmas gift only to be met with that box art.

Couldn't be any worse than The Ring: Terror Realm.
But that S&P2 cover looks amazing!

Though, Rez was mentioned in the Hands-On, and that was also made by UGA, so it's moderately apt.

The first one was magnificent and Treasure makes the most "balls-to-the-wall" action games in the industry.

I couldn't agree more. The first was a joy to play.
