The states only just got this? I got this for my mum at the begining of the year. It does have a rather good track list. Though Freddie Mercury sure has a wide vocal range, the game can kill your throat.
Oh try Disney Singstar. Just watching my sis n cousin play it a couple of weeks back was hilarious, my sister got stuck with basically going "hamahianaiamanam" for the entirety of Circle of Life :P
P.S GH:Queen/RB:Queen would sell phenomenally well I think. Probs better than Beatles too (as most Beatles fans I know aren't exactly video gamers, compared to Queen fans)
"Under Pressure: This one isn't really the game's fault either, but you can't help playing through SingStar Queen's tracklist and wishing it was Rock Band: Queen's tracklist instead."
This, this, a thousand times this. Are you listening, Harmonix? I've seen some of your staff post on Kotaku before! I know you're reading this. Get on it!
I've never been a fan of karaoke games, but my love for Queen will no doubt have me picking this up for my bday next week. Still, despite a number of amazing songs, I still wish the selection was larger. Maybe it's just the Queen fanboy in me that always wants more, but how could they leave out "Princes of the Universe"? I mean, c'mon! Still, quite happy to see Queen get an entire game dedicated strictly to them . . . Even if it isn't Rock Band. *cough*
@StarTropicana: This is exactly why I will never buy any sort of karaoke game. I'm sure it's stupid fun for drunks and those who have poor hearing, but I don't need to listen to myself ruining songs with my crippled voice in trying to outdo the band itself. It might work fine for bands with no vocal talent, but get a real singer like Freddy Mercury or heaven forbid Brian Wilson and just weep at the aural butchering.
@Kobun: Oh Man, Rock Band: Beach Boys next? I'd buy it. Especially since every version after the Beatles game will have harmony support. I'd even settle for just a greatest hits track pack. Kobun...you're saying you DON'T want this???
@monkeysaresilly: If the friends I have who are reasonably accomplished vocalists/musicians and Beach Boys fans in their own right hadn't moved out of town, I'd be all over it just to watch them play along. Me? I couldn't handle something like "Don't Hurt My Little Sister" or "I Get Around" let alone anything from Pet Sounds or Smile, and I don't need some game to tell me what horrible singing voice I have. I'm not a sing in the shower or car type of person.
@Sesshu: One of my fondest memories from my teenage years is when my entire class got detention for belting out Bohemian Rhapsody while our teacher was away for a few minutes.
Yup, a room full of 14-year-olds butchering Bohemian Rhapsody.
It was fucking glorious.
@Antiterra: That remind me of the time of me and my roommate was carrying my other trashed buddy back to his apartment. Suddenly my roommate and I started belting out Bohemian Rhapsody. And then yy drunk friend sort of woke up from his drunkness enough to started screaming SCARMOUCHE ,SCARMOUCHE WILL YOU DO THE FANDANGO!!~
We sang that song all they way back to his apartment where he proceeded to blow chucks all over his bed.
Good time Good times....
I've learn if you start singing Bohemian Rhapsody out in the public, pretty soon everyone will join you~
My dad played Bowie all day while taking care of me from ages 0-8. I have a t-shirt from a Bowie concert that my parents went to right before I was born. It's possible that I was conceived while in the backseat of a car outside the concert (it works out give or take half a month).
I didn't hear Queen until my babysitter from ages 8-12 played it while driving me to the pool from swim practice. I hated swim practice, so I didn't much care for Queen. Took me awhile to get over that stigma. I ended up liking Queen later, but as far as pop music goes Bowie > The Beatles for me. Dude invented multiple genres, has been around forever, and worked with best other artists over the last 4 decades.
The only thing that would make this list perfect is "Princes of the Universe". HERE WE ARE! BORN TO BE KIIIINGSSSSSS! I'm not that fond of SingStar, but this is a "Must Buy" on my list. As a die hard Queens fan, my sympathy goes out to the 360-only people who won't be able to indulge in this. No fanboy bias. Everyone should be able to experience the epicness of Queen.
@Kanji08: Ahhh yes, they forgot to add that track. Maybe it's copyrighted to Highlander or something. But still, what were they thinking? That song needs to be in there!

This is great for those who want it, but I'll stick with singing in the car. :D (Plus, it's not coming out over here anyway)

I disagree. Wacken.
Or if you only mean jazz, Montreal's Jazz fest is probably the best in the world.

I don't think it's a copyright issue, since they included Who Wants to Live Forever and One Vision, which are also from that movie.
Maybe there can be only two.
