Game Announce

Deep Silver's Ride To Hell - GTA Easy Rider?

UK publisher Deep Silver is set to make their U.S. debut in a big way with the announcement of Road To Hell, a free-roaming action game that explores West Coast biker culture in late 1960's - think Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider. Ride with your biker gang across the American West, protecting your turf and defending your brothers, both human and mechanical. I get tingly just thinking about it.

"Ride to Hell is one of Deep Silver's largest global multiplatform game launches to date and one that will put Deep Silver on the map in the US," says Hannes Seifert, Managing Director at the Deep Silver development studio. "Ride to Hell captures the spirit of the biker movement in the 1960s, while delivering an authentic, action-packed game play experience."

The game promises to capture the late-1960's feel in both art style and music, which means if Steppenwolf doesn't appear on the soundtrack someone is getting fired. Ride To Hell is being developed for the PC and "next-gen consoles" for a mid-2009 release.

Shiny Silver DS For Europe

With over 14 million units sold, the Nintendo DS is the best-selling games console in European history. With sales of More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain verging on the one million mark and The Phantom Hourglass just around the corner, Nintendo is looking to boost those handheld sales by introducing a brand-new color to the DS stable. Come October 12th, European gamers will be able to choose between black, white, pink, or silver when they head down the shops to pick up a new handheld. Mind you I see no mention of a metallic finish, so I'm not sure why they just don't call it gray other than the fact that silver sounds much more attractive. While I'm not sure how long the color will stay a Euro exclusive, the DS isn't region specific, so importing is always a possibility if you're a big fan of gray. More »

Week in Games: Tenchu Z Edition

Some Ninja action this week, a movie franchise game, a race game, a couple of ports and yet another Sims add on. Not a very exciting week all in all, but I'm sure someone, somewhere will enjoy something on this list. Could it be you? More »

Gallery: Fantastic Four 2

The best thing the Fantastic Four 2 video game has going for it right now is that it has nothing to do with Spider-Man, and people really aren't expecting all that much from it. It's good to see the Thing looking more...Thingish, and I love the Invisible Woman effect despite the pointless between the legs shot. For a game about a movie subtitled The Rise of the Silver Surfer there is a distinct lack of metallic surfing guys in these images, but I'm sure the final game will have plenty of awesome Human Torch / Silver Surfer "I can see myself in your ass" moments. For now, enjoy these screens and imagine - just for a moment - that it might not suck. More »

Clip: F4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer Teaser Trailer

Another day, another super hero movie franchise video game. This time around it's the Silver Surfer in all his nearly nude glory. I know none of this is in-game footage, but the character animations on The Fantastic Four look alright, particularly The Thing. I'm not sure that I hold too much hope for this game as it seems to be yet another cheap attempt to cash in on a semi-obscure super hero (Ghost Rider anyone?). I was a big fan of Silver Surfer as a kid, so I hope they do him justice, but I shall reserve my judgment until I see some real footage of the game itself.

Take-Two Takes Four

So first Sega walks away with the Iron Man rights, now Take-Two Interactive has procured the rights to publish games based off of the upcoming Fantastic Four sequel, subtitled The Rise of the Silver Surfer. The games will be released next year to coincide with the release of the film. No word yet on what consoles, but considering recent release trends for movie tie-ins, I'm gonna go ahead and bet on all of them. More »

DS Lite Silver? Think Not

Over in the UK, chain retailer Woolworths is currently advertising that the DS Lite comes in black and silver. Last we heard, the Europeans were getting black and white DS Lites. There's been no mention of a silver Lite available anywhere on Earth. Either Woolworths knows something we don't or maybe silver is British for white? More »

Silver the Hedgehog: Telekinetic Time Travelling Rodent

Press The Buttons has posted up some details on Silver the Hedgehog, the new addition to Sonic's phantasmagoria of anthropomorphic rodents. Apparently, Silver the Hedgehog is a time-traveller from the future who has come back into the past to prevent Sonic from triggering some unknown global cataclysm. We're betting there's a time travel paradox in there somewhere. More »
