@excel_excel: Maybe he was under the impression that his life depended on going out and buying the games? He didn't realise he had a choice in the matter. :p #halowaypoint
At first I was excited... then not so much. I understand Halo is a huge franchise and all, but how many people are really going to use this? It's like the special features on a DVD (I know a lot of people probably do watch that shit, but it's mostly just a selling point on a more expensive DVD right?) #halowaypoint
@Daniel @ playreadwrite.blogspot.com: the mlg kids would probably love it, and there's a shit ton of them. As much as the Internet bitches and moans about halo it has a MASSIVE competitive scene. #halowaypoint
@Kermi: I used Bungie.net a lot too, when Halo 3 came out. Of course, the people who are still playing that game will get use out of it, but I don't see it taking the reigns from the online experience. #halowaypoint
Kinda looks like the 360's version of the Mario Kart Channel on the Wii. Kinda weird, but it seems like hardcore Halo fans should enjoy it. I haven't played Halo Wars or ODST, so it doesn't seem to have much of a use for me.
Does anyone know if this is an extra download, or is it getting forced into the firmware with no option to disable it like every other 360 update these days? #halowaypoint
@Archaotic: I doubt it. I believe that the actual Waypoint program will be a separate app that'll be accessible in the Games Library section of the dash.
All speculation on my part, really, but I believe that's how it's going to roll. If not, it would have been mentioned in the preview dash update starting this week. #halowaypoint
@dumlaox: I hope you're right. I'm getting tired of shit I'm never going to use being shoehorned into the dashboard. It's already so friggin' cluttered, y'know? #halowaypoint
@Cutriss: Agreed. Back when I was big on Halo 2 and Halo 3, I used to love the Bungie.net implementation. Even nowadays people wonder why I have a little Bungie icon next to my username when I play H3 online. #halowaypoint
Wow, that is pretty amazing. Although I am not into Halo's MP as much as Halo 2 (the first game to get me addicted to playing online with friends) this is all some extremely neat stuff.
It makes me wish that Infinity Ward was treated as well as Bungie and could have a section like this.
And no matter how much the haters will hate, Bungie really delivers on a great console FPS experience, there is little to no competition there. #halowaypoint
Alright, so I like Halo myself, I even started a #HaloStories page for people to tell us their awesome tales of stuff that happened during their playing the game, but this sounds a bit over the top... I mean, I guess it will be for Halo 3 and Halo ODST, and Reach when the comes, possibly Wars and Marathon as well?, but this is still a little excessive maybe?
Or is this similar to my Wii Fit Channel or the Mario Kart Channel on my Wii?
.... Maybe it isn't silly at all now I think about it...
@Agent.AealapytsaNotxap(NotASpy): There's not much silly about just enhancing and expanding the community features. As we saw with uncharted 2's twitter stuff competitive online games do look to advance there community features. It'd be a bit better if all games did this in my mind as it's only there if you want to go anyway. #halowaypoint
@excel_excel: I know, but now I feel silly about my first paragraph.
I wonder if this channel will allow us to view files on Bungie.net without having to load up the games? I mean, doing that for the screenshots should be simple enough so if they don't have that at least, I'll be annoyed, but if they could also watch the theatre clips and such, that would be very cool. There probably is a way to get it to work, but it may be a little difficult/memory consuming. But if they did it... #halowaypoint
@Agent.AealapytsaNotxap(NotASpy): I believe they now allow you to export your theatre clips as files viewable on a PC but it's only available to Bungie Pro accounts which is a shame. I have soooo many clips of funny and impressive things and quite a few screenshots too. #halowaypoint
Thats pretty cool, more games should do this, of course quite a few do, but the 360 doesn't have a browser so it'll be handy for 360 owners #halowaypoint
@excel_excel: I'd love it if Battlefield and CoD would take their website stats and incorporate them into dashboard widgets.
I can get lost for quite some time digging through my multiplayer stats, and it would be awesome to have them handy right after I finish up a game session.
Not to mention the obvious extension of the awards/prestige grinding that it could create... #halowaypoint
@Yossarian: Especially if they worked...I can't remember how many times I've gone on EA's site to check my BF2, BF1943 etc stats and everytime the site seems down/inaccurate/slow
1943 was so well played it destroyed that stat site for well over a week. #halowaypoint
@I_Like_TDs: When you say "scaled down Home", are you referring to it being a kind of hub world? I don't know all the features of Home and have only used it once so if excuse me if I'm mistaken. #halowaypoint
really?i mean c'mon i tough the Imagine games(NOT GAMES)where on the top of the Worthless Crap Pile of of the last 27 years(e.t. for the Atari 2600 is still number one)but now this.is there a competition of who can make a game title so bad the it will ruin a game console or handheld the i don't know about>:(

It's more like a hub for game data, stats and screenshots etc. Great if you're into Halo, pointless if you're not.
