The Sims 2 was so awesome in that pretty much every expansion added a few real-world licensed songs...SUNG BY THE REAL ARTISTS...Completely in simlish! It's such a cool little addition, and I'm very happy to see that they did it again.
Especially since I ended up liking the Simlish versions a hell of a lot more than the real ones.
Though I can't tell yet if The Sims 3 kept the original Simlish or changed it. For example, every simmer knows that "Deg deg" or "soon soon" is "bye bye", and that when sims like their food they go "mmmm, dis gural es freneshey" or something like that. But I don't know if Sims 3 sims do that. :( Sims 2 sims didn't, either, I think. At least not the food one.
Excuse me, I'm super obsessed with the facts behind the sims. Sorry.
@norealityallowed: I need to get around to getting their music someday. It's funny to hear that it sounds exactly the same in a fake language. #thesims3worldadventures
Yeah, no. They did this in The Sims 2 as well and thought it was a pretty lame idea.
The music in Sims 1 is much, much better than the music in Sims 2 and 3. Hell, Sims 1 in general is much, much better than Sims 2 and 3. #thesims3worldadventures
I haven't played the Sims since I found a copy of the original game in the garbage at my parents work place. Apparently their office bought new computers and they all came with free copies of the Sims. #thesims3worldadventures
'If I were a major label recording artist, I would get maybe one syllable out before turning beet red with embarrassment sand running out of the room'
It's easy. You just have to make sure you talk into a mirror for a lengthy amount of time to increase your charisma and play a lot of an instrument (any one, doesn't matter, it's all transferrable...) to increase your music skill. Then you have to get on that career ladder and make sure you don't miss that carpool! #thesims3worldadventures
@Showmeyomoves!: Don't worry, you weren't the only one that remembered. I've abused "klapaucius" in The Sims and "weaknesspays" in Sim City 4 my fair share of times to get simoleans branded on the back of my eyelids. #thesims3worldadventures
@Outkastprince: That does it. When I'm being made mayor of SimCity, I'll make sure to send you in a private school, just so you can learn to say SIMOLEANS. #thesims3worldadventures
I just love it (read: hate it) that these guys actually think that they have come up with a fully functioning language just because they can afford to pay one famous singer and a bunch of no-name singers to re-record their songs in gibberish.
Gibberish =/= language. I think everyone figured that out in the fourth grade. If you want to know how to make a language proper, then look no further then here.
@(Human) Gyaruson: Pixie Lott isn't so much of a no-name singer. Granted, she isn't one of my favourite artists, nor do I listen to her very much at all, actually, but she does have quite a lot of fans over here. #thesims3worldadventures

In terms of language-creating, I feel that Anthony Burgess should be mentioned, however much I HATE the stupid, stupid movie.
Note that I believe this is at best a second place to Tolkien's efforts, but is remarkable nonetheless.

Yeah, I wouldn't consider myself very hip to the music scene, so I'm not surprised if she had a following that I am unaware of. #thesims3worldadventures
