Meh, as an avid DDR player, this is some kind of a travesty to me. DDR is meant to be played using your feet, it's meant to be an intense experience... I tell you, this is a generation of slackers TT
@Tyler Blount: Ehhhh, not really; I think the "DDR Generation" was half a step back (mine), whereas this generation is more of the Rock Band / Guitar Hero one. Just sayin that because you won't find many players outside of major cities still heavy into the game like it did back in the early 2000s...
WHOA, hang on a moment! Frogger..on an iPHONE? Are they sure it has enough power to provide an FPS high enough for a 27 year old game? I mean, I don't want to be caught by a semi when I'm like 2 steps away from the logs...I think Konami is definitely going to push the boundaries with this one!
Goddammit, I don't want the iPhone to become a viable gaming platform. I'm expecting Sega, EA and everyone else to jump into the console/portable market next generation, forcing me to buy 25 systems to play all of the games I want.
Depending on how Metal Gear Solid turns out, swearing off the iPhone will turn into serious consideration. Grumble.
Crap! I want an iPhone, but only for the gaming aspect, I don't need another (expensive contract) phone, is there a way I can get the hardware for a reasonable price and be able to just play the games without paying for the phone usage?
Would be GREAT if DDR will allow you to download dance steps (tap steps?) for any of the most popular iTunes tracks that may already be present within your device.
you want the 'necrophiliac rape' of the franchise to stop... hmmm, sounds like in essence, you want konami to take silent hills themes less seriously. I mean, its almost 100 percent proper to be raping corpses while thinking about silent hill, if you get my drift.
How exactly? By releasing new games in the series? Wow, how terrible they are. Bad Konami, you've never done anythign worthwhile, you're a crappy publisher and I hate you!
Which crappy games? Sure, you have your own opinion, but mine, and most people i've talked to about it are of the opinion that Origins and Homecoming are actually pretty damn good. You've not yet played this, so I don't think anybody can say either how good it's going to be. I would imagine it will be somewhat like SH: Arcade, but with a little more point/plot to it.
Please elaborate on which you think are the crappy diluted games. I don't mean to insult you or anything, I'm genuinly interested in a decent conversation on the topic. =]
@Greenstuff-Alex: Yes, this is my opinion, I never claim to be announcing some absolute truths.
I love Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3. I really tried to at least like 4, but couldn't. It was exactly what I understand as crappy - story was both bland and convoluted, gameplay was broken.
Then came Homecoming and got some quite mixed reviews, including severe bashing by Yahtzee, whos reviews pretty much nail it for me.
In the meantime there was this hideous Silent Hill Arcade thing - something unthinkable in case of series that used to rely on atmosphere and storytelling.
The PSP game was okay, although not that special either. Nowhere near 1,2 or 3. Quite a good game, actually, but compared to the original three it seemed... well, diluted.
So there you have it - last four games being crappy from my point of view. Voila.
@Torusan: Game like Tap Tap work just fine on both the iPhone and iPod Touch, so the screen touching won't be a problem. I think that DDR is actually a perfect fit for these devices, and I'm really looking forward to it (never really got on with the Tap Tap timing graphics).
@valdeaunia: A little late to the party, but I'm glad someone is here that doesn't reference Max 300 every chance they get. At least I know who the real hardcores are :)

I know a few people that say they are going to use this to remember steps and progressions.

But does it still play the iPhone games? I thought it was just a MP4 player with a touchscreen?

"it's not as strong as the psp, but it beats the hell out of the ds, iphone FTW!!!" we will see this sorta thing happening next year.

On the older ipod touch you pay 10 bucks for the ability if you buyed it before june. On the new ones (read 2nd Gen) it's already activated for free.
