<![CDATA[ Reiteration - Assault Heroes 2 This Wednesday ]]> In case you weren't paying attention around the end of April, Sierra Online's Assault Heroes 2 is this week's Xbox Live Arcade release. The game picks up where the first left off, with our heroes realizing that the enemy the vanquished in their last adventure was merely a pawn of something much more sinister. The new game features enhanced foot combat complete with a dodge roll maneuver, the ability to hijack enemy vehicles (perhaps to ease you away from GTA for five minutes), and combat that takes you over land, sea, and eventually into the depths of space. Assault Heroes 2 hits the 800 MS point sweet spot and will be available early Wednesday morning.

<![CDATA[ Sierra Mounts XBLA Lost Cities Expedition ]]> Lost Cities is is a card game designed by prolific traditional game designer Reiner Knizia. Released in 1999, the simple 2-player game involves players mounting expeditions to various lost cities around the world. Using a simple, 60-card deck, the game's fast-paced action is perfectly suited for a video game, and Sierra Online agrees. They are bringing Lost Cities to Xbox Live Arcade this spring for the relatively standard price of 800 Microsoft points, and they've released a few lovely little screenshots to whet our appetites. Not the most exciting-looking game, but non-traditional card games are general more about compelling gameplay than looks. Radical concept, I know!

<![CDATA[ Sierra Online Announces Aces of Galaxy ]]> Today Sierra Online announced another XBLA (and PC) space shooter, following their horrid rendition of Battlestar Galactica (which, admittedly, is not out yet for final review but looked bad at E3). It's called Aces of the Galaxy and it's a third person, behind the ship shooter that looks at least nominally better than their first two attempts at blowing things up in space. A co-op mode will allow you to play the game with a friend. And yeah, we'd pay a few bucks for the experience when it hits this winter.

They announced some other stuff too that we just had no interest in, so we'll put the press release after the jump.

Sierra Online Unveils Two New Titles, Provides Updates on Upcoming Games

Sierra Online, a division of Vivendi Games, has unveiled the first details for Aces of the Galaxy, an action shooter set in stunning space environments, and Boogie Bunnies, a new take on the match-three puzzle game. Both games are expected to release for Windows PC and Xbox Live Arcade this winter. In addition, Sierra Online has released new details, as well as artwork and videos, for several upcoming titles including Commanders: Attack of the Genos, Arkadian Warriors, Assault Heroes PC, Switchball and Battlestar Galactica.

Aces of the Galaxy is an old-school arcade thrill-ride! Set in a stunning space environment, Aces of the Galaxy thrusts the user into epic space battles in the ultimate struggle to survive. Players take control of the gun turret on an AI-driven spaceship aiming the reticule to vaporize waves of enemies in this third person retro-arcade shooter. The game features dramatic graphical effects, including an intense bullet-time feature that slows down hordes of enemies and visually dazzling warp zones that propel players through space at the speed of light. Players can take on a mass of enemies in a single-player game or team up with a buddy in the optional co-operative multiplayer mode. Aces of the Galaxy will be available for Windows PC and Xbox Live Arcade this winter.

Boogie Bunnies is the next evolution in match-three puzzle games! In Boogie Bunnies, players match bunnies from three different sides - left, right and from the bottom to save the bunnies from marching to the bottom of the screen where dangerous pitfalls await. Bunny busters can score chain combinations to trigger creative dance moves and watch the bunnies get their groove on. Players will travel with the bunnies to new exotic locations as they adopt the local culture and might even discover new bunnies along the way - from designer sunglass wearing bunnies to completely outfitted diva bunnies. Puzzle game fans can get the party started on Windows PC and Xbox Live Arcade this winter.

<![CDATA[ Sierra Online's Three New XBLA Games ]]> Team Xbox got a bit of a sneak peek at Sierra Online's offering for next week's big show. They say the company, a division of Vivendi Games, plans to unveil three new Xbox Live Arcade titles, including Battlestar Galatica. Hit the jump for the full descriptions and the link for plenty of more details, screens and even a video.

Switchball
Coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade late this summer, Switchball challenges players to control an ever-changing ball along a narrow and challenging course suspended in midair. A polymorphous ball exhibits different physical characteristics as it changes form as either a standard Marbleball, a feather-light Airball, an electrically charged Powerball or a dense and powerful Metalball. Players will have to solve their way through challenging levels packed with tricky obstacles, traps and mazes. With beautifully rendered 3D environments including Skyworld, Iceworld, Caveworld, Cloudworld and Lavaworld, Switchball features an advanced physics engine, allowing players to interact with objects just as they would in the real world.

Commanders: Attack!
Commanders: Attack! is a gripping turn-based tactical game with a combination of strategic troop placement and entertaining head-to-head warfare. Featuring a 1930's art deco look and feel, players will use missile launchers, bombers and infantry to amputate the enemies' defenses and conquer the land. Players can choose to challenge the computer AI in a 15-mission campaign across three different landscapes or battle against three friends either locally or online in four intense multiplayer modes - Versus, Team Play, Player vs. CPU or same-system Skirmish. Commanders: Attack! will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade and Windows PC this fall.

Battlestar Galactica
Inspired by the hit television series, Battlestar Galactica, airing on the SCI FI Channel, Battlestar Galactica is an action-packed top-down space combat game set in the universe of the hugely popular sci-fi television show. Players can take part in enormous multiplayer space battles with up to eight players online or play through the single-player campaign that includes memorable missions from the TV series. Pilots can either sign up to defend the Galactica or play as the ruthless Cylons as they seek to remove the human race from existence. With full 3D graphics to show off the detailed ships and cosmic environments, Battlestar Galactica allows players to fly four Human and four Cylon ships from the Viper II to the Cylon raider, each with unique weapon capabilities. Battlestar Galactica will be available on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
