Top of the heap was The Last Canopy, a shump which makes up for sketchy art direction with addictive play and the ability to absorb an enemies attack.

<![CDATA[ Ikaruga, The Manga ]]>

Anyone who's played Treasure's classic shooter Ikaruga, knows one thing: it rocks. Here's an equally cool, and moody, manga from Japan. It was dug up on the Shmups.com forums and created by cantHUE. While I would've expected something a with a lot more lasers, this looks like a bulls-eye. Beautiful, elegant stuff!
