    I'm looking through some of the comments here and are people still having difficulty grasping how this thing works.
    There's aloof complaints abut the light on the end despite the fact its the crux of how the device tracks you.
    Boot up Uncharted it has some really good making of features. Notice that the actors walk around with about 20 or so of these balls on their body...well that's how this controller works.

    @deanbmmv: just because it's crucial to how the thing works doesn't mean that it doesn't look stupid. Especially when sitting it next to something like Natal.

    @Ryan Meehan: Natal looks like someone removed Wall-E's eyes and stuck them in a tube of black plastic with HAL keeping him company.
    And natal doesn't look stupid, it makes you do that part.

    @deanbmmv:

    Just out of curiosity..what do you think of the wii?

    Since you have been defending the ps3s answer to the wii on a few articles while attacking Natal.

    So if you understand/like/whatever the ps3 "wand" what do you think of the wii?

    @Vecha: Tired of America's Solution to Health Care.: Not to bad. Very wobbly though..if you understand me. Though I do prefer the classic controller in games that support it.
    My main complaint with Natal is no one has actually shown what they expect you to do with it. The Wand is easy cos it is rather similar t the Wiimote with a bit of Z-control added, so you can go, 'oh well it should work pretty close to how a Wiimote works'.
    Natal looks like it could be fun to stick on top of my PC monitor though, could be very good a controlling interfaces, but games...if they show me some then yeah I'll maybe open my mind a bit.

    @deanbmmv:

    I personally feel like this will all blow over in the coming years.

    I have yet to see an "evolution" of gaming thanks to "motion" controllers...

    even if the controllers we are already have are "motion" based from our hands..

    @Vecha: Tired of America's Solution to Health Care.: Motion control is a very niche form of controlling a game, It'll help improve on a few things (like RTS on console might be more plausible) but it won't be the be-all-and-end-all.
    I think the current style of joypad is a sort of pinnacle of the controller, it is competent a controlling 90% of game styles rather well, though I guess there are some developers who would really want a few more buttons so they can try out more things (which stuff like the wheel in protoype, Mass Effect n AC2 are showing)
    But I don't think we'll get the control that developers want now in 7th gen till were at the stage f the matrix n jacking in to our games with brain power.

    @deanbmmv: I understand perfectly how it works I just think its looks dumb as hell. So when this thing comes out everyone who buys one is going to look like they are sitting on the couch waving around moms color changing dildo.

    Yes I think its interesting just like I think the Natal is also but odds of me ever picking up one of either of them Id say chances are slim to none because to me they both seem like gimmicks more then anything.

    I hate the Wiimote- it is such an uncomfortable thing to use and reduces all games to the same control scheme; shake your hands until your cartoon kills the other cartoons.

    The previews for the PSWang do look much better than anything Wiimotes do, but I'm still happy with a standard xbox360 controller, and really hope Natal doesn't infiltrate too deeply into 360 gaming.

    @alf717: I think developping hardware and software takes a collegial approach. So ideas are never completely original. Plus technological achievement is only possible thanks to the works of those who came before. You are never really original. Sony has simply learned from the Wii that you need a controller for motion control, not just a camera. But movement and color tracking exited on EYE TOY long before nintendo launched the Wii. The creators and the money men are simply not the same guys. ;) Sony really takes the best of both worlds and even though it might look like they copycat others, it just looks more promising than the competition (I have yet to try WiiMotion+, though)

    @Jean-François L'Her: Motion+ does make a big improvement over the Wiimote's standard levels of precision. It's very hard (or maybe impossible) to tell from the videos if Sony's controller is any more responsive. I get the feeling that some of the more impressive things we've seen the wand do -- like using the end of a sword to lift up the skeleton's chin -- have less to do with the controller's tech and more to do with the console's (higher resolution, more polys, and maybe better hit detection).
