New King Of Games Tees Available Now!! Hey, remember when the King of Games announced it was making that sweet Kid Icarus tee? It's available right now, should you have the 4900 yen (plus shipping!) required to make it yours. No, not cheap. KOG also drops word that older styles have been reprinted, if there's some officially licensed Nintendo T you've always wanted.

<![CDATA[ Pac-Man T-Shirt Spreads The Word ]]> Would it be a Friday without somebody posting a picture of a t-shirt? Of course it would. Not even Pac-Man himself has the power to warp time and space, but he might just have the power...to move you. Kotakuite Annissa spotted this Pac-Man-inspired t-shirt in a rather peculiar place.

After being dragged into one of the local Christian books stores by a relative I spotted this gem of a shirt. Torn between horror and facination I ended up snapping a few photos of it. These two are the only ones that turned out well enough for you to actually read the text under Blinky, Inky, and Clyde.

I snagged the best of the two pictures, but in case you still can't read it, the quote is "But I tell you who hear me, love your enemies, do good to those that hate you. - Luke 6:27". I've been checking chat logs all morning but still can't see where Luke said that. Seems a bit out of character really. I'll follow up with him later.

<![CDATA[ The King Of Games Does Kid Icarus, Kids ]]> On the left, The King of Games' new Kid Icarus t-shirt. On the right, new kid sizes of The King of Games t-shirts. Both go on sale (in Japan) next Friday at midnight Japan time. If you've ever thought to yourself, "I've always wanted a rather expensive Kid Icarus t-shirt" or "I'm a little person and would like a Mario Bros. t-shirt" you now know where to go. No word just yet on if they'll show up in the English language shop, but we'll bug KOG until they tell us.

Oh, they look quite nice don't they? The Kid Icarus tee will run you about $46 USD, with kiddy stuff at about $37 USD. Totally fair! Yep. More than fair.

<![CDATA[ "8-Bit Investigation" Shirt Is Worth Investigating ]]> "8-Bit Investigation" is among the more clever pixel art designs we've seen in some time. A tribute to Sierra's adventure games gone by, the shirt explores the aftermath of one character's graphic (pun definitely intended) fall from a building. From the splattered pixels on the pavement to the pixel puking in the background, it's another one of those almost obnoxiously cute designs that the Threadless community is known for. $20, but I wish it came in other colors than gray.

Something about all those exposed chests and red coats and wonderful haircuts. So it's poignant that the official Devil May Cry range of menswear - due to be released in Japan next month - will forgo hoodies and caps in favour of gear including a couple of exquisite cardigans and leather-pocketed polo shirts. With tiny, elegant belts attached, of course. They'll come in two styles (Dante and Nero), and at a price only the most fashion-conscious Capcom aficionado could bear to pay, with the polos priced at USD$75 and the cardigans at USD$105 (Nero) and USD$125 (Dante). Looks a lot, but for the convenience of having a belt on your shirt, it's totally worth it.

Rounding out the "Games That Never Were" series—and joining the already released Polybius tee are three fresh shirts. Hostage Negotiator II by Alien Hominid artist Dan Paladin, Grabungadung by Schadenfreude Interactive and Glorkian Warrior by comic artist James Kochalka comprise the remainder of fantasy games from creative minds.

Each are differing levels of snazzy and should go a long way to making your torso and shoulder area less naked. Details on each of the limited t-shirts are available at the official site, as are handy ordering instructions.

<![CDATA[ Arkanoid Tee Specifically For Streetwear, Russian Bear Fans ]]> While I'm a casual fan of block-busting arcade games like Breakout and Arkanoid, I'm a much bigger fan of clothing label Mishka, maker of fine t-shirts. Fellow Kotaku Tower inhabitant Luke Plunkett has more than once suggested that I attempt to seek a sponsored endorsement deal from the company in an attempt to offset the outflow of cash that goes in the Brooklyn-based company's direction. So far, no dice. While the brand generally focuses on things like metal, horror movies and He-Man, it's first video game related tee goes for an Arkanoid vibe. Yes, that Vaus at the bottom, tackling the label's Bear Mop logo... which has exploded in a very un-Arkanoid fashion. For those carrying on to the Mishka web site, keep in mind that it can be NSFW at times, so browser beware.

<![CDATA[ GameSetWatch Spins Off Apparel Line ]]> polybius_tee.jpgMy philosophy on life is this: you can never be too thin, too rich or have too many t-shirts. Fortunately for those with bare torsos and a taste for gaming, Simon Carless from GameSetWatch has announced the availability of the site's newest venture, a line of limited t-shirts known as GameSetApparel. The first of four, available now, highlights one of gaming's more infamous urban legends, Polybius. Legend has it, Polybius was an arcade game so frightening that merely playing could lead to insanity, resulting in the game being pulled from public display.

Only 111 of the Polybius shirts are available, but Simon and GSA plan to release another three designs this January, all part of the Games That Never Were line and all featuring the artwork of well known artists. Should you be willing to take a chance, all four are up for pre-order now.

Good news, but as a SMALL t-shirt wearer, I'm more excited about the rumors I've been hearing of the GameSetWatch monster truck.

Following the game's release to the delight of Japan's horniest creeps comes the t-shirt, the mouse pad, the cell phone strap, the mug and five types of phone cards. An art book and the already revealed CD soundtrack are also available.

The mouse pad is, of course, of the soft breast design, providing ample support for your wrist between the questionably legal boobs of one of the game's molestation candidates. Die-hard t-shirt collectors should take a look at the list and decide what they want to add to their coveted wardrobe. Threadless and their endless supply of graphic tees... Once in a while you can find some real gems. Sure, this one is not as inspired as the fabulous Bioshock that turned up last month, but how can you hate it when the colors are so rainbowlicious? As far as printed black tees go, I'd put it in the closet rotation.

<![CDATA[ The Worst Mario T-Shirt Ever ]]> Impeccable taste and sartorial elegance aren't qualities one's born with—they're learned, for the most part. Fortunately, I've developed an almost superhuman taste for dressing well, but even one who hasn't studied in the fashion arts can likely agree, this is the worst Mario t-shirt ever.

Combining a Mario that looks far more Wario-esque with money—the current artistic inspiration for commercial hip-hop that isn't about rims—it also adds the popular "G's up" creed to a giant gold necklace. Of course, it comes in XL, XXL and XXXL only, so one can perfect their adult toddler look. Also comes in black.

Final Score: 1/10.

<![CDATA[ Because Hippies Love Pac-Man Too... ]]>

Kotakuite Samo sends in this groovy photo of a two sided Pac-Man shirt taken at Hippie Fest 2007 otherwise known as Whole Earth Festival at UC Davis. According to the sign, it's part of the artist's new spring Organic Collection (read: hemp). I had no idea that people actually still bought tie-dyed anything, even ironically. Terrifying...

<![CDATA[ Threadless Loves BioShock Winner ]]> The winner of the BioShock <3's Threadless contest has been decided, with the democratically chosen design now available for purchase. Budi Satria Kwan's "The Leftover" is light on overt BioShock visual cues and heavy on mood.

If you're in the need of some videogame themed t-shirts at a budget price ($15 for guys, $17 for girls), sans painfully nerdy imagery, head over to Threadless with your credit card warmed up.

<![CDATA[ Mii Shirt Finally Brings Wii Puns To Torsos ]]> If the world is lacking in something, it isn't "funny" t-shirts. Nor are there too few Wii puns out there. Fortunately, Nerdy Shirts has found a proper place for the global overstock of both, combining Wii jokes and screenprinted hilarity in one garment. Their "Mii Love You Long Time" effort is now available, eliciting titters and groans from both t-shirt camps.

Twenty bucks for all this? Sign me up! No! Don't! That was sarcasm! I want nothing to do with it.

Thanks to all the fashion plates who sent this in.

<![CDATA[ Threadless Mario Tee Becomes Reality ]]> That Threadless submission we posted about last month has been chosen as a winner by the ironic/funny t-shirt community and made into a real life product. Aled Lewis' "Keeping It Real", featuring a none-too-subtle reference to the Nintendo plumber, is now available for mass consumption at the low low price of $15 American for the boys, $17 for the girls.
